Besides which, I've not seen anything so lacking vroom and motivation as "my mum won't get me a corgi". Have you never jotted down her Paypal password just in case? Do you not know how to use eBay? Think how proud she'll be of your self-reliance if she comes home one day to find your new friend eating her hiking boots.

You've come to the right place for assistance then, we're experts at finding things.

First suggestion, wash them with a fluorescent soap and carry an ultraviolet torch when you're out looking for them.

Hang a cellphone from their collar before you let them out in the morning so you can listen for their ring-tone. That's a good one because then you can give each a different ring-tone and know which you've found. Except, I suppose, you'd know which one you'd dialled anyway.

Add hydrogen sulphide generating bacteria to their food. Tetramethyldiarsine would be detectable at a longer range but your corgi would be dead before you got to it.
