These are the hands of a 56 year old woman I know that's bragging about her nails on facebook. Holy mother of god.

Let me clarify that I think she has beautiful hands but those nails are horrifying. Is it just me? I'll admit I don't like fake fingernails anyway and those in particular are ugly as hell.

I've got a co-worker that has fake nails and fingers that would make a platypus proud. Knock it off, ladies. You look stupid.

I have a glossy gray polish on my nails. The color is called, believe it not.."lonesome dove". :wah:

Those nails look even worse to me today... it's like she's got blue grime embedded under her nails or something.

I absolutely HATE that squared off thing, too. Old or young

hands.

Maybe I'll get hubs to take a pic of mine in a month or so, when they

are at the top of their arc. Mine are REALLY something to brag about!

So do I!! They seem totally unattractive to me. I love to see beautifully manicured and shaped nails, they appear to make the hands and fingers look longer...elegance comes to mind

I start painting mine brown as soon as I start gardening each year because I can't be bothered with gloves and my nails get stained.

I also agree about the squared off not working on anyone I've ever loked at. My first thought is usually what a pain it is for them to pick their nose now..........

That looks really weird. I like how a French manicure looks, but this stripey crap with daisies (or whateverthehell they are) might be cute on a girl under the age of 9. Maybe. It certainly doesn't look like something an adult should be wearing.

LOL! Well don't we sound like a bunch of old Fuddy-duddies! To tell the truth, I like a lot of these fashions much more than I like some of the fashions from the 70s when I grew up. A lot of guys had their hair halfway down the back. That wouldn't have been so bad, if they would've kept it clean, but it was always greasy and stringy. Hey, let's not even go into the "overweight people wearing spandex" fashions of the 1980s…

Took longer than I thought (interim damage to two nails)

but here they are... Not as much to brag about as I first

said, but not bad considering hands will be 60 in about 3 months.

No re-touching, I was tempted but truth in advertising and all

that. I only swapped wedding ring set for high school class

ring, didn't want diamonds on the interwebzes:

Yeah, mine are about due, too... you have a very pretty,

slender hand, I'm a bit jealous!

The only thing with leaving them a bit longer is I risk

them 'bending' and that hurts. And trying to type,

even though it's recreational and not work, is harder.

The woman that 'inspired' this thread posted recently that she's not going to have fake nails anymore, apparently she got a fungal growth or something... yikes!

I have always disliked the artificial nails. Now with all the extra decor one can have put on is nuts. What on earth must all that cost. I have very long slender fingers and cannot stand long nails. I keep them cut to the quick and polished a light color. Fuddy duddy? Yes!

Acouple of different ladies at work have ended up with funky looking nails. I guess you are supposed to rest them from time to time and these ladies couldn't stand their nails naked.

One of them looked like someone peeled away layers of nail with the old fake ones. Was not good.
