Re: USA vs England (Soccer/Football)

Well I know a lot of people consider friendlies unimportant, but I guess it's just one of those things to keep the players training and working to a high (ish) level, even during off periods. I still also find them fun to watch as even though they don't have the fierce-ness of a more important game, it's a chance to see two teams that don't tend to play each other in action.

We looked dead and buried but Monty took 6 wickets for about 37 runs in a howling gale - a HUGE performance; then Andrew Strauss saw us home with a good century. Great to see him coming back to form.

Be afraid, K, be very afraid: The last game of footie I watched was England 5 Germany 1!
Monty was the King in that match, I love watching him in action, and his excited celebrations when he gets a wicket. No wonder the crowd and English public love him!!

Re: USA vs England (Soccer/Football)

I really can't believe our manager is playing Gerrard on the left wing - I mean WHY!?!?!!

Anyway pretty uneventful and even after 15 minutes, though that lady singing the US national anthem was loud all right!!

Thumbs up Re: USA vs England (Soccer/Football)

I'm at work here in San Diego California so I have to "Matchtrack the Game" from the USSOCCER.COM site. Your right so far only 1 shot a piece.

Re: USA vs England (Soccer/Football)

Oh I know if there was a match to really not show how good the game can be it's this one. Very slow game, enough to make you nod off actually, even the crowd seem dead.

Talking Re: USA vs England (Soccer/Football)

I hate slow games they are boring.......!! Hopefully the second half both sides will pick up the pace a bit.
