USA vs England (Soccer/Football)

Since we have a large contingent of the English and a large contingent of American posters on this board I have to ask...

Anyone else anticipating the England vs USA game coming up on May 28th as much as I am?...

I reckon Capello, only being 2 games into his role as coach, and it being a friendly match, he'll take this opportunity to try out new players and tactics. He's picked a 31 man squad, and he's getting the team together for 11 days prior to the match.....So I'm expecting new faces, and/or tactics from England. Therefore I'm thinking it's whatever Bradley plans to do, whether he does the same and tries out new players, or fields a strong USA side, and goes all out for the win.

So K, to cut short my long winded answer .. I do have a sense of anticipation about this game. I want to see what Capello has up his sleeve, to rejuvenate an England side that's been pretty so so, just lately. I like watching the USA team anyway, so I'm hoping for a great match.

It's blatantly obvious to me that the USA will most assuredly submit their strongest side...They're using this game among others as testing ground leading up to World Cup qualifying that begins for them as well as others days after the event...

Just because this is a friendly doesn't mean neither team won't be wanting to win...

I don't think there's any doubt that both sides want to win, but Capello wants to form his own team, not inherit an existing one. To that end, he's been to dozens of EPL games watching English players. All I'm saying is, this is the sort of game to mess around with tactics, bring in new players...Yes he wants to win, but it won't be the end of the earth if he doesn't. You're not going to screw around with player combos and tactics in a competition, or qualifying match. This game seems ideal to try stuff out. That's why I thought your own coach may do something similar..maybe not. We'll see.

Re: USA vs England (Soccer/Football)

Should be a good match, but I do think that even though England will want to win, they will be more interested in experimentation with a new manager and his new ideas he wants to test. Not too mention the pressure will be on England to win, even if it is a friendly, so it wouldn't surprise me if the result was a score draw.

Hahaha not to mention the fact that your team is just outside the top 20 in the world, so they must be pretty good!
