Surveillance can be extremely boring. After you finish reading the paper or magazine you have with you, and picking all the lint out of your belly button, and straightening out all the crap in your car etc.
Then youre in trouble. Youre left with just yourself. In my case....not good.
I decided to buy a portable dvd player that you plug into your cig lighter and I was all set up, leaned my seat back, ate some beef jerky, made a mental note that Ill be in trouble when I have to go to the bathroom and started watching Malcom X. Not too bad really.
About 2 hrs into it the wife shows up, then he shows up, I call the sheriffs office and the deputy gets there in like 5 minutes.
Done deal.
9 days vacation, my first case and my boss has a hug waiting for me.
Im liking it.

This is the first thing Ive done that resembles what I would call a career.
It wasnt by design, but here I am.
It constantly changes, Im learning and I see no end in sight as far as being to a point of completion. A place where I could say Ive learned the job, Im done being taught.
I can see a point at which Id be able to teach and my boss has a myriad of things in mind for me.
Im going to the gun range with her tomorrow to start that aspect of it.
I went in for baton and self defense manuever training this morning and she told me shes going to groom me for executive security detail.
I like the trust and I like the education Im recieving.
I also like that the duties are all over the place.
Just a couple of thoughts on what Im doing.
