  1. Rocinante: The Year in Video 2017

Want something uplifting today? Here you go! I shot over 80 hours of HD video, worked on it for over 200 hours, then edited it down to just 11 minutes. The final shot has 9 different mixed shots including 5 special effects shots. ( I got into green screen heavily this year.)

  2. The BBC and Impartiality

I had thought the BBC saluted the concept of impartial broadcasts. This morning, a few minutes after 9am, I turned on Radio 4 while brewing coffee the way you do on a Sunday morning and there was a chap. On the steps of Portland Square. With the entire band of the Coldstream Guards in full...

  3. Celebration

Well, today's been quite an eventful one. As usual (on the early shift) I'm the first one in the office, and this is what I walk into. Today is a celebratory one as Utilita signs up its 500,000th customer. Champagne & nibbles all round (with specially recruited waiting staff to serve it all...

  5. Traffic Issue - violation? I'm asking you.

I live in a 55 or older golfing community. Our streets are @ 3 lanes wide to accommodate golf cart driving. Golf carts are to drive on the right side of the road and our speed limit is 25 mph... OK - I'm driving the golf cart and the road bottle necks into one lane - so I am now merged in with...

  6. Who is the older brother, who is the younger?

Who is the older brother---Bryn or Tyr? I am thinking Bryn is older because he seems to behave more maturely than John, but Tyr does have his sensible moments. I always thought Phil was the older Everly Brother, but it was Don, so I don't think I'm good at this. Tell me please, I do so want to...

  10. Return to No Dogs No Irish No Blacks ?

Britain's biggest buy-to-let landlord is facing legal action after banning 'coloureds' from renting his properties because they make them smell of curry (http://www.kentonline.co.uk/maidstone/news/fergus-wilson-bans-coloureds-123028/). The same man threw out people on benefits a while ago.

  11. European court Hijab Ban ?

Employers can ban staff from wearing headscarves, European court rules (https://www.theguardian.com/law/2017/mar/14/employers-can-ban-staff-from-wearing-headscarves-european-court-rules) I see nothing wrong in this. 13. The "should have consulted a lawyer first" thread

I don't recall ever thinking we needed one before, but this clipping shows I was short-sighted. Carly Mackie ignored hundreds of parking tickets for leaving her car at Dundee's Waterfront without a permit, claiming they were unenforceable. Ms Mackie said that she had a right to park in the...
