  1. Armchair Travels

From the description: "A day in Venice (Venezia) in Italy, from daybreak to sunset in time lapse". Gorgeous! Periodically I catch Rick Steves' travel program on PBS and his visit to Venice was my favorite last year. I don't know if it was his favorite but it was mine! Since I post a lot...

  2. North to Norway

This was filmed in the "fjords of western Norway" and shows some very beautiful, wild & somewhat rugged landscapes. Even in summer it looks chilly to me!

  3. My trip to Australia

Exactly 5 years ago, I got to travel all the way from Virginia, USA to Melbourne, Australia. It only took about 27 hours. It was worth it when I got there! I got to meet a and spend 2 weeks with a fun friend who treated me like her family, which, by the way were all awesome! :-6 I have such...

  10. Atlanterhavsveien

Some amazing scenery here! This was sent to me in an email and the description that accompanied it read: "Norwegian Road: The road is built on several small islands and reefs, and is crossed by eight bridges, several roads and overpasses. This road has a view of the open sea, which is rare on...

  13. Beijing Jianbing

And for breakfast this morning, let's have some Chinese market stall crepes! I don't know about the flavor but it would be worth buying one just for the fun of watching its preparation!

  15. Kiev, a beautiful place.

Highly recommended if you don't know where to go. We spent 3 days in Kiev and a day in Chernigov. Kiev is a truly beautiful city. There's all sorts of things to see from the Lavra ( 1000yr old Church) to the huge war memorial (where I ran out of film) for WWII with a huge statue of Mother Russia...

  16. The House of Balaramaji

The Minor Basilica of the Santo Niño or Basilica Minore del Santo Niño is a 16th century church in Cebu City in the Philippines. It was built purportedly on the spot where the image of the Santo Niño, a sculpture depicting the Holy Child Jesus found by Spanish explorers in 1565 preserved in a burned wooden...

  17. Satire bites in odd directions sometimes

This is from 1975. It's The Goodies on the topic of South Africa during its most rabid apartheid days. For some reason ForumGarden doesn't have an embedded section for politics. I have a strong suspicion that The Goodies never made it to US TV screens. This might be why. I'd be interested...

  18. Moscow Time Lapse

Beautiful city! I much prefer the brightly colored old architectural style over the modern steel or brick buildings. The latter can be found in any large city in the world but the former are quintessentially Russian!

  19. The Portland Japanese Garden

On previous trips to the Portland Japanese Gardens I was able to capture some of the more serene areas of the facility. It's a beautiful place, quiet, uncrowded and very beautiful. One of the advantages of a full membership is early access to the garden at 8:00 a.m. instead of 10:00 for the general...
