How weird....??? I see the edit function on this post? So why not my earlier one?

In the lower left hand corner there is a posting rules box which indicates I can edit my postings; however, there is no edit function available on the thread post. How do I edit postings?

My girlfriend in Florida has a frequent guest in her yard. She has named him Albert, and he comes out of the pond to sun himself quite frequently. To date......no one has been able to capture and relocate him!!
