Winter Birds

I have feeders up all year. In winter, we get daily visits from bluejays, cardinals, chickadees, sparrows, finches, mourning doves, juncos and downy woodpeckers. (And, of course, squirrels.)

Some people who don't speak may be ill - but certainly not all. I'm a fan of silence (to my gf's dismay).

Mickiel, it appears to me that your many monologues are an attempt to convince yourself of your "beliefs," not other people.

still grieving for my partner

I'm sorry for your loss. My wife died three years ago and my mother was killed in a car crash. I have a sense of what you're experiencing.

I hope - in fact, I'm pretty sure - the baby will help fill the hole in your heart. Time will do the rest.

Peace.

Ist Rule of Journalism: Consider the source.

Coup Media isn't exactly high on my list of credible sources.

But it's been my experience most armageddon enthusiasts aren't too fussy about sources.

Is God real?

Possibly. Depends on one's definition of God. (I stay away from discussions of what's real.)

Is belief in God and evolution mutually exclusive?

Not in my book.

What is your favorite beer

If I only had to pick one, after I finished crying, I'd probably choose Kronenbourg's 1664.

I like quite a few Canadian beers, especially Sleeman's Original Draught, Moosehead Lager, Rickard's Red, Creemore Springs Lager and Red Baron.

You folks need to try something. As a long-time observer of the American scene, I'm genuinely alarmed at how divisive your people and system have become.

Although not a fan of his politics, I admired Jack Layton as a man of conviction. It's a shame he passed away so shortly after his party's greatest success. Condolences to his family and friends.
