    Re: Armchair Travels

I remember Guy Martin doing it a few years back, admittedly he was on a push bike but it was under three weeks start to finish.

I’d be overjoyed if I could do it in less than three months.

Re: Not with a Bang, but with a Sneeze?

It’s worse than that and it’s not as bad.

It’s worse than that in that it’s 5% of the total cases but the majority of those cases are still in progress and some of those who are still ill will...

Re: Can the West trust Huawei

Agreed, and apparently Johnson has folded like a puppet when the US say we’re not allowed to tax their pets.

Re: Not with a Bang, but with a Sneeze?

If you take out the cases on the cruise liner where does that put the RoW figures?

From a pool of less than four thousand people having an infection rate of one in ten gives them half of the RoW...

Thoughts? It’s wonderful to see you back :-6

As to the drug treatment, if it leads them into rehab or even into a safer mode of use then it must be a good thing.

Re: Not with a Bang, but with a Sneeze?

So it’s only Hubei province that’s changed the definition, can we now expect the other provinces to drip feed changes in order to maintain the uncertainty?

Re: Not with a Bang, but with a Sneeze?

That’s just the one province changing to a more open form of reporting, (albeit the main one) how many other provinces have yet to change?

Re: John Suggests Jesus Was Gay

I put the quote to my Greek tutor this evening and it appears the the reading depends on whether the definite article prior to the final Jesus is nominative or accusative - i.e. whether he is the...

Re: John Suggests Jesus Was Gay

I have no idea why he should react that way but to assume something contraindicated by the text suggests an agenda rather than a spirit of enquiry.

Where do you get naked from, it specifies outer garment removed implying the there’s an inner garment that was not removed.

Re: John Suggests Jesus Was Gay

The disciple who (he) loved (the) Jesus is a literal translation but it can be read both ways, either the Jesus is the object of he loved or it is a qualifier to say which of the two men the implicit...

Re: Not with a Bang, but with a Sneeze?

This cruise liner is making a poor showing at isolation and decontamination - another thirty nine cases today taking the total up to one hundred and seventy four, over a quarter of the RoW total.

Re: John Suggests Jesus Was Gay

The usual English translation of the original Greek text is the disciple whom Jesus loved, the original Greek looks to be more ambiguous.

There are many people that I love without there being any...

Re: John Suggests Jesus Was Gay

In modern Greek at least αγαπώ/agapo is romantic love and φίλος/filos is a male friend but φιλάω is to kiss whereas the verb for like/take pleasure in is αρ*σω/areso so the first one I’d translate as...

    Looks good.

I bought a cheap one to try and my main problem with it was that the camera was fixed relative to the rest of the drone. At least this has a three axis gimble for the camera and the...

Re: Not with a Bang, but with a Sneeze?

Apparently it’s a response to one of the original evacuation flight from Wuhan who’s threatening to abscond from quarantine - not a clever move.
