Spot, this isn’t a political thread. It’s personal. Don't be disrepectful or I’ll have to punch you in your virtual nose. Intellect or no intellect.

By "looks," I of course meant that he seems like his policies will be very far to the right. Which is always bad. (racism, xenophobia, anti-poor policies...etc.)

Re: The observation and asides thread

Wow. I feel very sorry for all my British friends. Your new prime minister does not look very good...in a lot of ways. He's being compared to Trump, and that's a bad thing. And the hair ....the...
  7. Re: Leak of emails from the UK ambassador in Washington

Oh bloody hell...as you Brits would say. Who cares who leaked them? They were accurate and his honest opinion. And I thought they were spot on.

so the Trumpists (See: racists and misogynists)...
  8. Re: Life After Death (Or how I learned to appreciate being alive again.)

Pretty much my feelings exactly. That was my initial reaction after the experience: basically *Whew!* Well, at least I didn't go "poof!" It takes a lot of the fear of death out of things.

    There's...
  9. Re: Life After Death (Or how I learned to appreciate being alive again.)

Yeah, that was way back in 2001 and, thanks to modern biologic drugs, I've been pretty healthy ever since! (As a matter of fact, I've worked three jobs for all those years!)

    Re: Assisted Death

It's only a bitch for the living survivors. We feel bad because we miss them. To the dead, it's blessed relief from pain, fear, and stress.
  11. Life After Death (Or how I learned to appreciate being alive again.)

In light of poor Minx's loved one, I wrote that death is a "bitch" but only to those of us who are left behind. To the dead, it's blessed relief from pain, illness, and stress. Here's a little story...

    Re: On the Road, again

Ouch. I stayed with my wife’s cousin in Boston last summer...and they didn’t have AC! I thought I was going to die. 20% humidity is s muggy day for us.

Our probes just found biological proof of life on Mars. How does that figure into this discussion? Science disproves of evolution in the Universe? Think bigger: In the beginning, God created...

    I...
