    Advent Calendars

This might not be the right place, but we dont have a place for Art in the Arts and entertainment threads.

I got this advent calendar when I went to the National Gallery of Art (where I am hoping to get hired). Its so beautiful. Each tab tells you something meaningful behind certain aspects of the painting. I wanted to share it. Anyone know the work? Its from two artists: Fra Angelico and Fra Lippi. Its called The Adoration of the Magi.

The peacock symbolizes "eternal life" and the eyes on the peacocks feathers, symbolize the "all seeing eyes of the church". The mountains in the backgraound support the verse that says "From this rock I will build my church". Its somewhere in the Bible and I think Jesus said it to Peter.
