You Know You Grew Up In The 70's If...

1."All skaters, change directions" means something to you.

    2."Members Only" jackets...say no more.

3.A predominant color in your childhood photos is "plaid".

4.Chevy Chase was really funny in those vacation movies.

5.If female: you thought that Shawn Cassidy was "dreamy", lusted after "Ted, your ship's photographer" on the Love Boat or Chachi.

6.If male: your first love was Marsha Brady, Jeannine, Samantha from Bewitched, Josie or any one of the Pussycat.

7.In your sophomore class picture, you're wearing a shirt with the collar "up".

8.It was a major accomplishment to get to the "Chase" scene in Ms. Pacman.

    9.Leg warmers were cool.

10.Most of the fillings in your mouth are directly related to Bazooka or Bubble Yum.

    11. Rotary phones.

12.Schoolhouse Rock played a HUGE part in how you learned things like grammar, math and history. (A big hint here is if the only way you can recite the Preamble to the Constitution is by singing it.)

13.The Brady Bunch Movie brings back warm memories.

14.You can remember the words to the theme song of "The Greatest American Hero." ("BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I'M WALKIN' ON AIR... I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD FEEL SO FREE-EE-EE...")

15.There was nothing strange about Bert and Ernie living together.

16.This rings a bell: "My name is Charlie, and they work for me."!

17.You actually believed that Mikey, famed kid on the Life cereal commercials, died after eating Pop Rocks and drinking a Coke.

    18.You actually remember Benetton.

    19.You actually remember Mr. Bill.

20.You ever asked to be gagged with a spoon.

21.You ever had a Dorothy Hamill haircut or used Short and Sassy shampoo.

22.You ever owned a Donnie and Marie or Sonny and Cher poster.

23.You ever owned a set of "Pop-Wheels", that handy little combination of shoe and roller skate that lasted about a year on the open market.

24.You ever wanted to learn to play "Stairway to Heaven" on the guitar and choreographed "Dancing Queen" by yourself in your room.

25.You know all the words to the double-album set of the "Grease" soundtrack.

    26.You know who shot J.R.

27.You know, by heart, the words to Weird Al Yankovic's songs.

28.You learned to swim at about the same time "Jaws" came out... and still carry the emotional scars to prove it.

29.You owned a Jordache anything, or you remember when Jordache jeans were cool.

30.You recall when Love's Baby Soft was in every girl's Christmas stocking.

31.You remember "Friday Night Videos" before the days of MTV.

32.You remember Bo and Luke Duke, Daisy, Boss Hogg, or, worst of all - what Sheriff Roscoe's full name was. (Coltrain)

33.You remember having a rotary phone.

34.You remember having to get off the couch to change the TV channel.

35.You remember that music that was labeled "alternative" really was.

36.You remember the days when "safe sex" meant "my parents are going out of town".

37.You remember trying to guess the first episode of the Brady Bunch from the first scene.

38.You remember wanting to stay up to see Mr. Bill on Saturday Night Live.

39.You remember when film critics were certain that no movie could ever possibly get better special effects than those in the movie TRON.

40.You remember when there was only "G", "PG", and "R".

41.You remember when your cable TV box had a sliding selector switch and your "cable or VCR remote" was connected to the TV by a CORD!

42.You took family trips BEFORE the invention of the mini-van and remember riding in the back of the station wagon trying to get passing trucks to honk at you.

43.You tuned in regularly to the adventures of the Bionic Man and Woman, Wonder Woman, and/or the Incredible Hulk.

44.You were not allowed to see The Exorcist, The Omen, or The Blue Lagoon when they came out.

45.You were unsure if Diet Coke would ever catch on.

46.Your first musical purchase was an 8-track tape.

47.Your jaw would ache by the time you finished one of those brick-sized packages of Bazooka!

48.Your parents paid $2,000 for a top-loading VCR that was almost the size of a coffee table.

49.Your parents wanted you to attend medical school, but you decided it was pointless since Quincy got all the babes anyway.

50.You're currently employed doing something that has absolutely nothing to do with your college major.

51.You're starting to believe that having the kids go to school all year wouldn't be such a bad idea after all.

52.You've ever owned a pair of rainbow suspenders like the ones Mork used to wear.

53.You've recently horrified yourself by using any one of the following phrases: "You know, back when...," "When I was your age...," or "When I was younger..."
I don't want to press "1" for English. This is America!

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

"History teaches that when you become indifferent and lose the will to fight someone who has the will to fight will take over." COLONEL BULL SIMONS

OMG, I feel old We rent a house at the beach with a rotary phone. Hubs & I tested our four kids on it. They knew it was a phone, but had not a clue how to work it. They put their finger on the number but did not know you had to dial it. Hilarious.

We had the Bay City rollers....... Yuk!!!!

It was in the 70's that i first laid eyes on 'The Stanglers'. All my friends were swooning over 'Donny Osmond' or David Cassidy' and i was swooning over 'Jean Jaques Burnel' of the Stranglers. I still am swooning over 'Jean Jaques Burnel of the Stranglers and have just seen them all again on their 31 st year tour. They don't make them like that any more

I did not go in for all that leg warmer nonsense either. It was Doc Martin boots and leather jackets.
I hated 'Chevvy Chase' movie's and prefered the 'Martin Scorcese' brilliance of films such as 'Goodfellows' and 'Casino'.
I did not cry at E.T. either.
I hated every thing about British fashion in the 70's especially rah rah skirts.

"Love's Theme" by Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra.

    Now that was music.
