I could understand that Abbey if everyone on FG lived in the UK. That's not to say that I and other Yanks are not interested in what goes on in the rest of the world, but some of the postings are not of a national nature, but regional. Would anyone in the UK really be interested if I posted something in the General Chit Chat about the resignation of my city's mayor? Those of us that have been on FG don't have any trouble picking and choosing what we read and what interests us. But if FG wishes to attract a fresh audience and them keep them, I think it's important that we not be perceived as a UK or US only forum. Someone checking out FG initially could get that impression. Finally, just what is the purpose of having the different forums if they are not to be used?
Just a thought on trying to make FG better. Maybe I am wrong.

Would you consider the resignation of Hilary Clinton to be a regional affair equivalent to the resignation of your city mayor rather than of a national nature?

The resignation of our Home Secretary is directly analogous to Hilary being forced out.

OK------------Good point, but then what is the purpose of all the different Forum categories. Let's just have everything in General Chit Chat.

Current Affairs is hardly general chit chat - it's for exactly this type of posting surely?

I wouldn't have thought that the British Foriegn Secretary resigning before she's sacked 'general chit chat'.

Fair enough - there's ambiguity in any indexing system
