AMA, AARP Endorse Health Care Bill

At this point there is so much support for this bill that if the house does not vote 'yes' there will be some real backlash. IMO, if health care passes its the republicans who may suffer setbacks this coming election cycle, and if not this one coming, it will happen in 2012.

Just think, by this time Monday, America will finally have at least some sort of health care system to look to. It won't be much really, but heads and tails above what we now face. This is a truly historic time in America and for Americans!

You apparently disregard all the polls that show a majority not approving the proposed health plan. Dream on.

A lot of docs don't belong to the AMA and the AARP bugged the hell out of me to buy their insurance. I become suspicious of them and dropped out. AARP is just too cozy with the big "0".

The reason that some polls show a disapproval of this health care reform is because it does not go far enough. It needs a public option to drive costs down more than this plan does. Those of us who are in support of this bill are still disappointed that there is not a public option. However, that is coming. This is just the first step. As time goes by, there will be amendments and other bills that will get us to the kind of reform that will help every citizen.

As far as polls go, they are different depending on where the polls are taken. So you just can't put too much faith in them. The poll that really matters is the one last November, when the majority of Americans voted a straight Democratic ticket to get Obama in office as president and to give him the majority so that he would get the backing he needs for this reform. The only complaint I have is that the Democrats try too hard to bring republicans into it when they sit in a corner, pouting over the fact that they lost, and saying "no" to everything like three year old children who can't get their own way. They know that when this is passed, it will go down in history as a Democratic win, and they just can't stand that.

If republicans were as religious as they claim to be, they would be happy to have a health care plan that will ease the pain and save the lives of millions of people over time. Instead, they show themselves to be selfish, greedy, and evil by not caring about people enough to give them decent health care. They should all be ashamed of themselves. God wants us to help the poor and the needy. Not just old white men whose pockets are full of money, but who just don't seem to have enough and always want more. Help Americans, not the insurance companies with the real death panels who decide whether or not they will pay for vital treatments that you need or who drop you from your insurance just when you find out that you really need it to fight for your life.
