In case you haven't noticed, there are few biblical scholars hanging out in this garden.
But since the Bible, itself seems terribly unclear on the matter, I don't think it was considered a very important issue by the people who wrote it.

    LarsMac,

I don't think one needs to be a biblical scholar to know if they believe the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week.

Depends on whose week we are talking about. The The Hebrew week starts on Friday night, so it would have been the seventh day. The First Day began at sundown Friday.
Interesting thing is that Mat 28 says that on the first day of the week, at sunrise the the two Mary s found the tomb open. So he was only in the tomb overnight so it is still Shabbat, the first day. Obviously the tomb was not the "Heart of the Earth" in which he was going to spend three days.

    LarsMac,
re: "Depends on whose week we are talking about."

We're talking about the week the Messiah was using in the 1st century.

That's a new one on me if by Friday night you mean the 1st half of the 6th calendar day of the week. What is your source?

Ummm, I guess that I should refrain from posting when I am on my pain meds?

    LarsMac,
re: "I already covered that. "

I just reread your posts and I don't see where you have identified your source for saying that the Hebrew week starts on Friday night. How about providing the number of the post where I can find it?
