Seems to me that members here are just not interested in ordinary chatting about anything and everything. Seems they have to be led by a thread title ! Oh well, I'll give it a few more days then, it there is still little or no interest in this thread, I'll pack it up.

OK what shall we talk about now ?

OK........I just had a short visit from my own Scottish contingent , that is my daughter her son and daughter and their partners.
They were down for their paternal grandfathers funeral, it was literally a flying visit with me making them breakfast at 7.00am this morning so they could get their flight back.

I write this because when I heard they were coming down, I was happy to be able to see them. Then on second thoughts, it was for their other Granddad's funeral......that doesn't make me a bad person.......does it ?

I suppose that's because they live right up there in Scotland, you don't get much of a chance to see them do you ? My sister lives on the Isle of Skye and I'm in Nottinghamshire, as is her son, with one grandchild and her daughter lives in Suffolk with 4 grandchildren, so my sister has to do a lot of forward planning in order to do the rounds of seeing her offspring and her siblings. One of our brothers lives in Chesterfield (used to live in London), and the other one lives in Grantham, Lincs. The next get-together will be my sister's 60th birthday which will be held at a nice pub in Nottingham, as being fairly central to all rellies. It will be in April but her birthday date is in May, however she can't get time off from her full time job, in May to have the 'do' on her actual birthday.

When you've got rellies scattered all over it is very difficult to get everybody together on a particular date.

I suppose there have been times (once or maybe twice) when you were a bad lad, but I must confess I've not seen that in FG !

Re: "The Friendly Café - Open for chinwaggin'

A sad day for me as tonight I handed in my official resignation from the choir & returned my music & uniform. This has been brought about by issues with the Assistant Musical Director who doesn't have a clue.

I've been with the choir for over 25 years & where it always used to be the highlight of my week, with this particular idiot out front, it's become an ordeal which, along with some other contributing factors, initiated my going into a real downer last week, resulting in my calling the Samaritans & NHS 111, where I was referred to a Duty Nurse, a Duty G.P., a Duty Psychiatrist, then to an Emergency Appointment the next day with my G.P., who has referred me to the Community Psychiatric Nursing Team & MIND.

After handing in my stuff I went on to another choir in the area, but to be honest, they're not really up to much, so I'm still looking for decent alternatives.

Wishing you well FourPart, and remember the saying "Don't let the buggers get you down"........that is a saying isn't it ? It has served me well in the stronger version.
