    Thanks for the 'national compliment', and the link, Ahso! You guys lost quite a few brave men in WW1 and WW2 as well. You can be proud of their sacrifice, especially in WW2. We needed all the help we could get to defeat Hitler! If we had all failed, I shudder to think what the world would have been like today....

    Used to be. in 1954 US changed it to Veterans' Day.

    But of course - everyone knows it was only the Americans who were the conquering heroes of both wars (despite being late for both).
