    Hey Jives.. check this out.

It seems to me that a certain member here used to be associated with this band.. "the Gin Blossoms"..
Anyway, in my wanderings thru cyberspace looking for freedowns of concerts, a friend of mine directed me to a site that had some killer Dead recordings.. and that site lead me to this one.. www.archive.org
    so.....
    for your listening pleasures..
    here are the Gin Blossoms
Live at the Canyon Club, Agoura Hills, CA . 1/24/2003

It will be one of the following:

    (1) The action is set too low
    (2) The truss rod may need slight adjustment
    (3) The string guage may be too light for the job
    (4) The fret wire may have a divot
    (5) The slot at the nut has worn down
    (6) A combination of 1 & 3

    (7) If it appears the nut has worn down, to
check, place a shim in the string slot using
carefully folded tin foil. place string back on,
and re-tune. If the buzz goes, it's the nut.

    (8) If it 's very old it might need a re-fret
If it does, ask for fatter fret wire as a replacement

    (8) If it's the truss rod, and you're unsure
about how much to adjust it, only apply
less than a quarter turn (with allan key) re-tune, and
let it settle in. Keep in mind turning the truss screw,
one way, bows the truss rod. Turning it in the opposite
    direction will straightens the rod.out.

    (9) The instrument may need setting up. For this you'll
need feeler guages. a tuning fork, or electronic tuner.

    (10) Depending on the instruments age, value, and
how confidant you feel about doing adjustments, It
might be advisable to pay for this to be done by a guitar
tech, or else purchase a book that takes you through the
various stages of set-up, and repair.
