Would you accept $1 000 000 to leave the country and never set foot in it again?

Let me get this straight. I get $1,000,000 so I could go and live in (say) Florence, surrounded by beautiful architecture and works of art, eat divine food, drink fantastic wine, meet beautiful and well-dressed people...AND never have to come back to this s***hole?

Are you kidding? :D

I might well be tempted...and my family could come and visit me wherever I was.

I could go through a lousy million in nothing flat. Sweeten the pot and include my family and I'd consider it. But this would still be home.

The world is my home anyway.

I do not feel my country is my country anymore. It would appear that immigrants have more rights than I do. I have been thinking about emigrating anyway. Perhaps I'd move to Eire.

I voted NO, but if I had no family here I might be tempted...there are so many beautiful places in the world.

I will add to my answer...I would be willing to take the money to leave..if it were not for the never return clause. I mean, never to see my home, and to leave the memories I have hear. Plus, the thought of not seeing friends or family again...no amount of money is worth whay you would have to leave behind.

I very nearly emigrated when I was 25

Although I love England, I've had many homes here and I see no reason why I should not have many homes elsewhere and learn to love other countries as well.

It would be good to see the list of voters in these polls - especially this one.

The national split would be facinating.

There are far too many places abroad that I've not seen for me to say no. It would be a perfect excuse to up roots and travel. I can imagine far worse fates, I'd sign up for this one.

I think we should all pool our million dollars and establish the ForumGarden Hippie Commune, all we need do is decide where. Goa? Morocco? Lesbos?

Absolutely not, I have far to many people I love here and it would be difficult for them to visit me. Also, I value my freedom far to much - I wan't to go where I wan't, when I wan't :)
