Le beaujolais nouveau est arrivé

Post by AussiePam »

The third Thursday in November is the celebration of the new season's beaujolais - and even way down here in Australia, expat French, Francophiles, Francophones. and lovers of fine wine gather to celebrate. I'm just off to the big party!!

It was lovely, Chonsi!!!! There must have been a hundred people. We all tasted the new brew, then we had a competition to identify French wines, followed by a similar taste test on cheese. In between all of this we had great jazz musos playing, much conversation and some fine food, including a terrine of awesome gourmicity. I can't get to France nowadays as often as before - with the littlie, though he's going over there with me next April - so these small excursions into France-Down-Under, are extra welcome.

(((((Pam))))),

I know you won't believe this, but Orla escaped YET again as I was travelling through the cavernous wine cellars of the "Snug." She led me to these this area and I found those vintage wines you hid 15 years ago....Can you believe it???? Will have to save them for when you visit the sea or I visit Australia:wah:

Just bring yourself, Kathy!! And WOW on re-finding that old wine cellar. Thankyou Orla!!

As fer having a hangover, Chookie, I don't. This was a celebration of the new vintage, not a pyss-up. Grin. Quality not quantity.
