The most famous example of this is in "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix :guitarist

Actual lyric:"'scuse me while I kiss the sky"

Misheard lyric:"'scuse me while I kiss this guy"

What lyrics have you misheard, and do you still sing along knowing they're wrong?

Me and my brother STILL call that song Rollockin' Tide as it's what my Dad used to sing around the house while we secretly giggled like a couple of schoolgirls :yh_giggle

One of my favourite albums is "The Detroit Spinners". In the song "One of a Kind (Love Affair)", they actually sing "You just gotta hug her yeah"

I don't really want to say what, for years, I thought they were singing, suffice to say that Tenacious D could cover it :o

I found a whole songs worth.........

A grazing mace, how sweet the sound

that felled a foe for me.

I hit his head, he hit the ground

and thus came victory.

My mace has taught my foes to fear

my mace my fears relieved.

How precious did my mace appear

when I my mace received.

Through many tourneys, wars and strife

my mace and I have come.

My mace has seen me safe thus far

my mace will see me home.

My lord has promised good to me

if I my mace will swing

and strike his foemen such as thee

with my great heavy thing.

My king has sworn this to me

that I may have his wife.

If I will only cross the sea

and reive thee of thy life.

A grazing mace, how sweet the sound

that brained a wretch like thee.

Your head is flat, which once was round

thanks to my mace and me.
An ye harm none, do what ye will....

Okay JD that was very funny and probably would've been even funnier if I knew the song they were singing...I can't understand a word they are saying, so I can dig the lyrics they chose for the video!:wah:

The one I've never been able to figure out is in Mungo Jerry's "In the Summertime".

At the end of the the first verse, it sounds like "Teach a drunk how to drive, then go out and see if you survive."
