I try my best togo to bed before it gets here and to avoid all the hoopla. I find NYE depressing. I don't like goodbyes is probably why. I've celebrated a few times but it's not my thing. Sometimes I'll be up late doing something and I'll accidentally see it come in but it's not a big occasion for me.

I will be shooting the guns off at midnight. Then I will be screamning in joy that this useless ####ing year is done, then go to bed and hopefully wake up 5 months later.

When we were younger, we used to go to NYE parties most every year! Both at House parties, as well as at resturaunt parties. One year we went to Times Square in NYC for NYE, and it was as brutal as it was fun! Once was enough! :wah:

Now a days, we go out to dinner 4 to 6 times a week, so we found that it is just not worth it to go out NYE. When resturaunts are overcrowded, overworked, food over cooked or undercooked, lousey service, & all for inflated NYE prices! So we tend to just go to "close family" parties, it's easier, safer, better. :)

Ive always hated New Years Eve. I dont think its happy, I think its sad. I did go to a great party once.... it was in 1972. But since then its just a regular night. In New York we say " Amateurs go out on New Years Eve". There couldnt be a worse time to be on the road, as the ocassion has always been connected with getting drunk. For whatever stupid reason...... Ill never know why.

New Year's Eve is a family event for me. My side of the family gets together and exchanges Chanukah and Christmas presents -- we order a ton of Chinese food and pizza and go to town!

I'm always home before midnight and hopefully, asleep as well. Hubby refuses to go to sleep until the ball drops in Times Square -- but by that time I should be in Dreamland :)

I am working a late shift new years eve, then an early new years day. Totally reeks! But if I wasnt, it would be at home watching it come in on the telly. Snuggled up next to my Voodoo, watching the cool movies that are on.

I am a nurse at Basildon Thurrock University Hospital. Even though I have been in health care for twenty years, it's still a bummer when I have to work the holidays. In the U.S. I am a respiratory therapist. But they dont have those here. Thats why I am off to get my english qualifications as a nurse.

We are going over to my son's house for New Years. The theme this year is pajama party. We're gonna play games and eat lots of shrimp and probably stay sober. Well some of us.
