Neither. I won't fly, not that that will break the industry, but if enough people refuse, it just might. Though its true I think that the public is so damn fickle about security measures and bare responsibility for this, of course with the assistance of the media making the public crazy.

It's difficult to judge on this one story alone but it does seem very extreme if only half true. If every passenger now has to be visually displayed naked or physically probed even around the genitals, then it occurs to me that so-called terrorism has made a huge advance on the infringement of human or personal rights.

What I cannot establish is whether this screening is done to every passenger or only those who trip certain alarms.

There is apparently a national boycott being called for here in the states set for November 24th as that day is the heaviest air travel date of the year. I hope it has an impact, but even if it does, my government will most likely funnel funds to the airports to make up for the lost income. I think it needs to be for more than a month or two to really drive the message.

I heard about this yesterday and frankly I think it is ridiculous. The problem is it's so damn politically correct. Everyone shall be searched, regardless even of age. They had a 3 year old patted down, the kid was terrified.

I travel a lot and frankly it's getting to the point where I'll take my chances.

OM, as I understand it everyone has the choice of the porno-scanner or being felt up, and if you give the TSA guys an excuse, such as forgetting to take your wallet out of your pocket, they get to feel you up anyway. I've heard rumors that women in hijabs can refuse, but no confirmation on that.

The next time my beloved and I go to Japan I'm going to look into the cost of driving to Mexico and flying out of there.

I can handle the scanner, I just don't like some stranger touching my junk. What I do find truly disturbing is the guy who walked up to him as he left the airport and the threat from the TSA. That's a sign that they have way too much power.

It was a TSA employee that offered for him to leave and even escorted him to the counter for a refund. Its getting to the point that everywhere we go we're treated just as we were when in school with our behavior being dictated to or have consequences ensue.

This is the true reason we were put through the school system...to learn to obey and finish processes we begin. Its a screwy mindset.

I find it disturbing that very few people are able to see this. Perhaps it's too obvious.

They tried to introduce it here.......when they did we were told that you guys and the US already had them and they weren't a problem ....lies , all lies.

BTW I'm not sure if they have gone through with the introduction of them (this was last year and I havent flown for awhile.)

but on another note concerning scanning I've had to enter courts over the past couple of months . Both inner city and regional (rural) The city courts have scanners the regional courts do not......Why?

At one point I went through the scanner at a city court and it didn't go off ....cool . then I was told to step on a foot scanner .....again didn't go off.

BUT!!!

Then I went outside for a smoke. when I came back in I had to go through the whole rigmorol again. But this time the foot scanner went off.....uuuummmm why didn't it go off the first time? (found out there is a metal strip in my high heels. ) again why didn't it go off the first time? I'm not that good at cobbling to suddenly put a metal strip in my shoes.

I only caught the tail end of the conversation, but on the radio a former congressman who says he helped write the law that created TSA said (if I got it right) that airports can refuse TSA and opt to have their own security. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Our courts in the UK scan everyone for metal objects on the way in. They've been doing this for several years now. But there's no nude displays or fumbling about your person.
