ELECTRIAN Trevor Brooks planned to generate hatred like his twisted hero Omar Bakri – but today the self-styled Islamic preacher faces a possible life sentence.

Brooks, 33, was yesterday found guilty of terror fundraising and inciting terrorism overseas.

He was one of six British men convicted – all members of an extreme Muslim group known as Al-Muhajiroun, which seeks Islamic world domination.

The evil gang gloated over terror bombings and urged the murder of British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan during rants at a London mosque.

One of them, Simon Keeler, 36, is believed to be the first white British Muslim to be convicted of an extremist offence.

Today absconded defendant Shah Jilal Hussain, who was convicted yesterday along with Brooks turned himself in, his lawyer said.

Brooks was born in Britain to Christian Jamaican parents but converted to Islam at 17 and took the name Abu Izzadeen. He was tried under the name Omar Brooks.

He is thought to have sponged £50,000 in state benefits. All were stopped after a Sun investigation.

Although not known to have any clerical qualifications, he played the part of a firebrand preacher by aping now-exiled Bakri’s hate sermons.

He hit the headlines in 2006 by heckling then Home Secretary John Reid at a London mosque.

DVD recordings of vile rants at London’s Regent’s Park Mosque in 2004, found at the home of Al-Muhajiroun leader Bakri, formed the basis of the evidence.

In one shocking video, dad-of-three Brooks urged Muslims to kill Brits – while CHILDREN as young as eight looked on.

He reviled Christians and Jews and cried: “Our Muslim brothers will kill the British and they will kill the Americans. To kill the enemy is right.

“No kaffir (nonbeliever) is innocent. Innocence is not a defence.”

Brooks, of Leytonstone, East London, was also probed over a raving speech which included a sick joke about the victims of the 9/11 attacks in New York.

He cruelly said the Twin Towers atrocities changed many lives – “especially those inside”. And he praised London’s 7/7 suicide bombers for “terrifying the enemy”.

He urged followers to “offensive jihad (holy war)” and praised the murder of British soldiers and the beheading of hostage Ken Bigley.

he said: “We must take their money and property and kill them.

Mohammed was the prophet of massacre.” Prosecutor Jonathan Laidlaw said at Kingston Crown Court, West London: “He was clearly speaking to encourage terrorism and murder.”

Keeler, from Crawley, West Sussex, whose brother was in the Army, was convicted of fundraising and inciting terrorism abroad.

Abdul Saleem, 32, and Ibrahim Hassan, 25, were convicted of inciting terrorism but cleared of fundraising for terrorists.

Shah Jilal Hussain and Abdul Muhid, both 25, were convicted of fundraising.

All will be sentenced today. Hussain is on the run and hunted by cops after failing to answer bail.

After giving their verdicts, the jury learned Muhid and Saleem were jailed for their part in violent London protests over publication of cartoons of the prophet Mohammed in 2006.

Two men, Rajib Khan, 29, and Omar Zaheer, 28, walked free after being cleared of charges.

i await with anticipation the sentence for the 2 terrorists.

they should get life which means 15 years locked away at the tax payers expense.

in reality the life sentence should mean just that life untill you die.

forget the hand wringers and put all the terrorists in one secure jail like parkhurst on the isle of wight and this could become britains alcatraz home to the most dangerous criminals in the uk.

the best sentence of course would be the rope.

hopefully if enough people keep up the pressure for legal execution we could see its return to the stature book.
