i 'discovered' the flaming lips just this past year. love 'em. great stuff. must take in moderate doses though - the lead vocalist has a, uh, unique voice, that can grate after a while, at least for me. plus, having OCD, i tend to get a phrase from a song stuck in my head in an endless loop. drives me batty!

They also have some of the most original lyrics and song titles everMaybe they do but they don't have original melodies.

Tonight is the first time (I think) that I have heard them (on their website) and the first track "Fight Test" amazingly sounds like Ronan Keating's "Father and Son" :-2
