What are you listening to right now

Post by Bruv »

This is a from an EP launch my wife and I attended last week.

The singer is my wife's grandson he is a really lovely boy. Not entirely my sort of event or music, but it's all his own work. His elder brother is a DJ and his younger sister is a really good singer too.

When either of them make it big, remember where you saw them first.

I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

Yuna- Lullabies (Adventure Club Remix) Trance/dance. Quite soulful. ( I like quite an array of different 'sounds'!)

One of those things you find in FaceBook.

100 Worst Songs Ever - How many have you heard?

I am actually going through a listening to these.

Some don't make it a full minute, and I agree with most of the picks so far.

But, I found a couple that I really don't think deserve to be on this list.

TACO's Putting on the Ritz? Come on. That is a cool number.

Though in the video, he kinda reminds one of a certain Dr Frank N Furter.

I'm afraid 'Rap' is not my favourite, but I have to say that Bruv, you have a talented family! Best of luck to them. Was this video recorded in this country ?

Yes Gill, at a local venue here in Ashford.

Toward the end, Rosie is his sister and Deon a cousin, Rosie has a great voice that will get better when she gets proper tuition, she is the one I expect to 'make it'.

Normally, Rap doesn't figure in my listening, but that was pretty decent! Like the Rap/Rock fusion. With a little more polish, I can hear Simon Cowell saying "That's 4 yeses"!

Wish You Were Here would just pop DSOTM as my favourite Floyd Album.

This has also been my avatar at a time when the title of the album described perfectly Mr Brown's economic incompetence

I liked that. I like some good electronica now and then. (PS - Smaug, if you delete just the letter "s" from the "https" at the beginning of the video's address, it shows the video in a window instead of a link.)

I stumbled upon a very nice Led Zeppelin cover by Pie in the Sky

That was a good cover version, Saint. Led Zep are another of my all-time favourite rock bands, alongside Pink Floyd! Cheers for that, and the "https" tip! ( Been wondering how to do that;Simple when you know how...)

There's just one problem-I removed the S in the HTTPS address, and I still get the full selection of related vids, rather than a 'stand-alone' window. Not sure why this should be;is there anything else I need to do?

If you see "_channel=[some users name]" you need to delete that part, as well.

Be careful not to delete any of the characters before the "_" though, or the link will not work correctly.

At dinner, tonight, the restaurant was playing some blues, and they played a number by Etta James.

I can never listen to just one piece by Etta, so I decided to see what Youtube has to offer.

Smaug, make sure to click the "video" button in the post menu. It looks like a small film and is the second to last icon. Just do that and take off the "s" and it"ll work. That's all I do.

Elizabeth Frazer has the most wonderful voice.

For those that are unfamiliar with The Cocteau Twins, the lyrics have no specific meaning but are comprised of words that fit phonetically with the music's phrasing.

With regard to Liz Frazer, I thought I recognised the voice ................ I'd heard it on the sound track of Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Very similar type of voice to Enya and Clannad. I enjoyed the Cocteau Twins music - very listenable, thanks. :)

I first heard her more than 30 years ago. That voice made me fall in love with her a bit.

Percy Sledge ? Thats an all time classic, and it's from the 60's, although some kids think it was written for an advert or background music for a film.
