That used to be played as our last track of the night, when we did private charters on our trip boat on the River Trent at Nottingham. I knew that if I started "Lady in red" as we went under Lady Bay Bridge on our return to the jetty, the song would finish just as the crew got off at the jetty to tie the boat up. Well I thought it was a neat plan to play a smoochy gentle track to sooth the mood of the evening, and most of the passengers seemed to love the song ! Whenever I hear that track these days, I'm taken straight back to when we had our charter/trip boat business - happy days ! :-6

Sorry Snowfire ! :sneaky: Not sure why you loathe that song so much. :-3

Stellardrone. Ambient music, somewhat similar to Tangerine Dream. Lovely ISS visuals included! Relax and 'chill'....

I know how you feel in both ways. When MTV first came out I was entranced by "Total Eclipse of the Heart." My girlfriends over that period liked it too and it scored me some points. Now, if I hear it, it stil brings back fond memories but I have trouble understanding why I'd like such a cheesy song and such a weird video.

Well, I am not sure how, but it seems that it might have been my fault that "100 worst songs" got added to the title.

I apologize and will see what I can do to fix it.

In the meantime, If you post any further replies to this thread, edit the Title, yourself before submitting and it will start to sort itself out.

Do not reply to any of the posts with the wrong title.

Of course it does ! It helps to keep the innards cool. If you haven't got a fan in your laptop you must have bought a less expensive one, and if that's the case you'd better keep an eye on it and make sure you switch off till it cools right down, if it feels hot ! I have a plastic adjustable framework which I put my laptop on and it facilitates cooler air channeling underneath the laptop to assist the fan to keep everything cool. Actually I can't say that I have heard of any computer (desk or laptop) that doesn't have a fan inside !

I wouldn't have thought there was enough room inside most laptops to have a fan, let alone enough circulation to make it effective. I even leave the side off my desktop to allow for maximum cooling & air circulation.

I remember seeing the BeeGees doing an interview on TV many years ago now. They were asked to do a short version of one of their songs. Without a note played to give them the correct pitch they went straight into this song unaccompanied and absolutely spot on. They were such masters at close harmony ..................................

Roy Orbison's 3 surviving sons had heard of a tape that their father had recorded of a never-released song. After much searching over several years, they found this tape and had it 'sorted' by clever technicians and they played guitars and drums and sang backing vocals and released the track. It's called "The Way Is Love", vocals Roy Orbison with backing vocals, guitars and drums by the Orbison brothers...................

Oooh, I bet that is really enjoyable ! It was so tragic that John was murdered and George got cancer, but it is good that the surviving pair get together occasionally. The Beatles were a ground-breaking band and even my dad thought they were good, and he even bought a few albums ! :wah:

I have heard the memorial concert that was organised for George. That was brilliant !

It's always sad when top groups break up, but when it's done amicably it's not so bad. I think that the Beatles had gone as far as they could & were right to quit while they were ahead to allow the rest to go off in their own directions, rather than just keep churning out out the same old styles - such as the Beach Boys. They probably have Grandchildren who are older than they were when they were at their peak, yet still try to portray themselves as teenagers.

This voice made such an impact with me and my family when we saw her performing from a pub balcony at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk, in a biting cold wind. Hayley busks sometimes in her home town of Norwich. She did tell us that she was in the middle of recording a CD, so we are hoping that she completes it soon and it is made available in the shops ! She has quite a repertoire of songs from shows, film scores, opera and popular classics.

I've got an obsession today with redbirds. I always thought this song was "Pretty Redbird" and my mother sang it a lot. Now that I know it's "Pretty Redwing" I wonder if she heard her mother-in-law, who had a lot of Indian blood and was a very good singer, sing it? I remember my grandmother sitting me beside her in the pew at church and singing hymns in her beautiful soprano voice. I was about 2 years old.
