Yep! I love that old cartoon! Good eye, Chonsi. I'm sure glad that I can finally have a real avatar. That Lee Marvin was getting old!

Yeah, that's the only ABBA tune I can take, although I saw an awesome tribute band last year! LOL! "Hole in Your Soul" is a little more rock and roll than most ABBA and it takes me back to the '70s. Vangelis is totally cool. I don't have anything by them, though, except some stuff from the "Risky Business" soundtrack. What's a good CD of theirs?

Uriah Heap combined with ZZ Top? LOL what a cool mix...I like this thread already. It's like a cooking channel!:D

I have so much music on the pc and my tastes are so eclectic, my playlists probably seem so bizarre to some. As I have always said. There are only two types of music.....good and bad

As for Vangelis. Most of his stuff has a theme. China, Antartic, 1492 Conquest of Paradise but the best known is the theme from "Bladerunner", one of the best Sci-Fi films ever with one of the best soundtracks. His stuff is full of beautiful, luscious soundscapes

Re Bladerunner. "Rachels Song" is just beautiful. If you enjoy the soundtrack Saint, then try out the track "Chung Kou" from the album China as a taster. Very evocative. Headphones on and let it take you there.

Dont get me wrong I love my guitar based rock but sometimes you just want to let the music wash over you

Incidentally Saint, back in the 80's there was a wonderful television documentary made by Carl Sagan called "Cosmos" The soundtrack to that series was from various Vangelis Albums as well as other artists

Dont forget the great stuff he did with Jon Anderson....The Friends of Mr Cairo. Great album from which the great track "I'll find my way home" comes and also "State of Independence" (didnt Chaka Khan do a cover of that ?)
