On vocals Paul Roberts who replaced Hugh as lead singer.

This one reduced me to tears driving the car the first time I heard it a few years ago now

Mika - Happy ending lyrics - YouTube

Then this one did the same a couple of years ago

Christina Perri - Jar of Hearts (Official Music Video) - YouTube

There's no doubt its the timing of the songs combined with what's going on in life that's the trigger for the song ending up meaning so much. Both were songs that I didn't listen to for a long time.

Definitely...music is such a powerful trigger for the emotions. It takes you back to where you were. And there are times when I can't listen to certain songs because of how they make me feel. "She Moves..." is one of those.

Oh yes the Mika one didn't bother me this time round, but the Jar of Hearts is still relevant and that brought goosebumps.

If you listen to this without crying I doubt you have any feeling at all. This is the choral version of the great masterpiece Agnus Dei (Adagio for strings ) by Samuel Barber

West Side Story, one of my 2 favorite musicals of all time. I know the lyrics to each song & can act them out too.

I admit to getting goosebumps to You'll Never Walk Alone. Corny, but despite my trying not to react it happens anyway. Even now, just thinking about it.

I was half listening to a programme on the radio about the origins of She Moved...they played Sinead O' Connor's version which was good but, for me, not as good as the version by Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention and well, you know the rest.

After 9/11, this song is absolutely haunting...

Tough to hear on the video, but as he starts playing, a lot of people shout "NO!"

Around the 45 second mark, look closely at the piano.

I thought this was just a girlie thread, but seeing as some of the most macho men on here have contributed I shall give some of my goosebump making selection.

I have a wide taste in music and I never knock so called popular music, so first......

I believe I can fly

Followed by the exact opposite end of the spectrum.

Non, je ne regrette rien

Now for a new one.

Someone like you

And an old one....

Passing strangers

Wonder how much about ourselves we reveal by our choice of music ?
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

I like your choices Bruv and some I had never heard before.

Tis true, music Is a powerful tool. It may not be the song, It's the memories It evokes and on hearing the music, we are Immediately transported back to that moment In time.

As an example... my Father was In the hospice dying and my eldest brother due to a falling out hadn't seen or spoken to him for over ten years. he was umming and ahhing as to weather our Father would want to see him so I sent his this..

Mike & The Mechanics - The living Years - YouTube

He went... and then after my brother had left my Father said to me ' I can go now'.... and he did that day.
