In the era of big boxes, a day for the little guy - The Denver Post

Although the effort's brainstormer claims there was no political agenda, if it were to catch on in the mainstream and become part of the consumer mindset, I don't see how it couldn't have a larger impact. If given the opportunity, I'll purchase from a small business over a corporate giant any day. I guess it makes me feel like I'm helping the underdog somewhat. Baby steps!

That got me a little misty eyed, what a heartwarming story. It'd be a shame if they went out of business: "Chagrin Hardware's owners for a beloved shop that has been a fixture in the village since 1857."

I want to move there.
