Here we go again... The Daily Mail today with another story of a Fox getting Into a house and biting a toddler.. Yet, experts who have closely examined details of previous claims, Invariably find a family dog or cat In the house which then actually defies logic... no Fox will enter a house where a dog Is present.

For my presentation, I will be talking about a very little known phenomenon Involving Vulpes Vulpes and why Hunting and Culls are absolutely futile.

First of all, Foxes do not roam In large packs. They are fiercely territorial and live In familys consisting of an Alpha Dog, Alpha Vixen, Subordinate Dog and Subordinate Vixen. Only the Alpha Vixen can reproduce. She will have two litters each year producing 8 cubs maximum. When the cubs reach 4 to 5 months old, the Alpha's oust those cubs from the family.

The average life span of Red and Urban Fox Is just 2 years. It's estimated over 100,000 Foxes are killed by cars every year. Given the short life span, ousted cubs only take over old territories when Alpha's or Subordinates have died.

Mother nature can be very cruel. Fox populations regulate themselves and Subordinate vixens conceive but do not get to whelp their Kits. they only serve the purpose of producing milk should the Alpha Vixen be killed where they will then take over raising the Kits to Cubs.

In 1940 Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries carried out a Cull of Urban Foxes In the East End of London. Stats are a little sketchy as serious studies had only just begun but they basically wiped out the Urban Fox population of the East End.

Within 4 days, there were just as many Foxes In that area... the dead replaced by newly ousted Cubs taking over the territory.

But something even stranger happened... Sketchy stats showed that within 2 years, the Fox population for that area had actually quadrupled.

How was It possible ? If newly ousted Cubs had replenished the territories within 4 days, then It would be Impossible for more Foxes to move In due to the extreme territorial nature of the Alpha;s. The Birth rate of Alpha Vixens could only double the population In the East End and that was providing no Foxes met their deaths.

There was only one explanation.... Mother Nature had stepped In to replace all those dead Foxes and the phenomenon was that Subordinate Vixens had begun to produce live Kits weaning them to live cubs.

Two years later, the Fox population In the area remained static... Subordinate Vixens had ceased to produce.

Good grief are you suggesting the daily mail might exaggerate or misrepresent the facts in a story?

The Mail does work In our favour though..

Hunt workers caught on video feeding foxes offal and eggs in bid to boost the population 'for illegal hunting'  | Daily Mail Online

I will be In the Cotswolds next week with some Hunt Sabs.... taste of their own medicine coming... don't give a toss If I am arrested.

Surely the situation, as things stand, is that hunting / hunting with hounds is actually illegal & that anyone participating should be arrested & prosecuted, rather than just sabotaging the hunt?

Yes It Is Illegal. They do It under the guise of paper trails.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_Chase_(game)

Even when we get the bastards on film and present It to the police, very little Is done.

These are some of our own pictures taken at Tiverton... Even with hunters faces.... nothing done at all by police..The second pic was us blocking the hounds

It might be worth using that video to set up a Petition on 38 Degrees or Change.org not to ban hunting, as that is in place already, but to ensure prosecution of those who blatantly flout the law, especially with such evidence as you have there.

I'd certainly sign it.

We have to be careful Fourpart. Those dedicated to Hunt Sabbing are targeted by the Pro-hunt. Down In Somerset, Badger Sabs had their cars wrecked and even dead rabbits and a Badger smeared all over the bonnet of the car.

In my younger days, I was threatened with violence weekly. I got kicked, shoved around, threatened etc etc...

We do have Orgs that continually fight but we have to be careful about putting pictures and video's out there... the police do nothing. Their opinion Is that we ask for all we get.

Make no mistake... Fox hunting Is never about keeping the numbers down. They know just as we do that the moment they take out a Fox on Farmers land, a newly ousted Cub will move In.

It's not just the Hunt... Cubs are dug out of Earths and ' fed ' to the hounds to train them while the helpless Vixen looks on... they are complete and utter bastards.

Over the years, we have provided Immeasurable amounts of evidence to police Including hounds that don't make the grade being shot In the head along with Injuries to the horses.

They said that there would be job losses If we got It banned. Codswallop... must have employment elsewhere and hunt weekends... that's a myth. It's nothing more than a sick bloodlust.

As the law stands, Hunting with packs of dogs Is Illegal under the 2005 Hunting ban.

Yet, there Is still no ban on meets taking place. That's how they get away with It. Foxes can still be killed In the wild by a bird of Prey... yeah, ridiculous eh ?

Also If no more than two dogs are Involved, the Fox can be flushed out by dogs and shot... only, they rarely shoot them because It's unpolicable. Hunters now split the Hunt Into two dogs until they are out In deep countryside.

Sabbing Is no easy job...It gets very very nasty.

First pic Is of Mr Jacob Dean Whalley/ He pleaded guilty and was convicted on 9/9/2014 of 3 counts of battery, contrary to section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988. Whalley was ordered to pay compensation of £450 to the victims, and court costs, and forced to take part In a Community Order. During the attack, carried out by a number of hunt members, Whalley beat hunt saboteurs, seemingly at random with a stick, and kicked one in the head when she had been pushed to the ground.

You can help us and the wildlife ( second pic ) Donations pay for equipment to flush out hunters and bring them to court.

I remember one daft bat giving her story to the Mail and she claimed that A giant Orange Fox walked up to her In the street and growled at her. The Mail printed that without researching the fact that Vulpes Vulpes can not and do not growl. They hiss.

Since 2005 we have handed over a wealth of evidence to the police but the truth Is, It's not policable.
