Crisis Manager?
On 9/11, the world went nuts when President Bush finished reading to the school children he was visiting when he found out about the attack.
(1) This week, having a prime opportunity to show how presidential he can be by addressing the battle in Georgia, Barack Obama continued his vacation in Hawaii, leaving his staff to cover for him - showing what we can expect in such situations.
(2) John McCain jumped out there and practically committed us to Georgia - showing what we can expect in such situations.
While Obama was walking with his daughters on Hawaii's perfect beaches, taking in a showing of The Dark Knight and heading out for dinner on the town, McCain has been burning up the phone lines with Georgia's president, Mikhail Saakashvili.
(3) James Poulos asked what Barr thought of John McCain's statements on Georgia.
Just a few weeks ago, Sen. McCain was highly critical of Sen. Obama's foreign policy stances and politics: They were "simplistic." I'm not sure one could find a more simplistic response to a problem in the world than McCain's response to what's happening [in Georgia.] Going out there and making statements... such as 'We are all Georgians'—what does that mean? It means nothing unless it means we are to get involved on behalf of Georgia.
I read that John McCain knows the Georgian leader, President Saakashvili, that he's been over there, but his statements seem to reflect an unrealistic view of the situation over there... whether John McCain has looked into Saakashvili's eyes and seen something he liked, similar to the way George W. Bush looked into Putin's eyes, I don't know. I haven't looked into either of their eyes, so maybe that gives me an advantage.
Be damn sure what kind of response you want for the next four years: (1) one just like Bush, (2) one just like Bush, or (3) .....
Damn, it's slim pickin's this season. :yh_frustr

Just an observation in the form of a question.........Are all the American President cloned? I know.....they dressed differently according to style of the times and had different physical appearances..........But have they all shared the same "Presidential Persona"?

Was he reading? I don't remember that he was, I thought he was sat staring off into the middle distance wondering like the rest of the planet why he was being left unprotected.
As for what either candidate did to impress voters over the Georgians' power-play, neither had any role - neither's elected yet. Unlike the chump at the time he was being read to.

Glad you asked or I wouldn't have checked. Keep him in your thoughts.
Ron Paul's wife in serious condition
HOUSTON — The wife of Republican Rep. Ron Paul remains in intensive care at a Houston hospital and is expected to undergo her third surgery since being admitted Thursday.
Spokesman Jesse Benton said in a message on a Ron Paul Web site Tuesday that Carol Paul, 72, "is fighting hard and remains in serious" condition.
Benton would not say what Carol Paul is being treated for.

I've come to the conclusion that we either vote for a liberal democrat which McCain is more often than not, or a socialist which obama is.....
I'm so sick and tired of being limited to having to choose the lesser of two evils..
My vision is that McCain will pick a really good vice prez, then for health reasons a month after he wins the election he has to step down and put the good vice prez in charge... Problem solved....!

I'm still holding out hope that Hillary's ego will get the best of her and she'll either go for the nomination by back door vote or go independent. Then Barr or Ron Paul might see theat they have a real chance and actually start running.

The fluster and bluster is warming up. Hillary supporters are mad because she wasn't even considered for VP. Now there is talk that the 3:00AM text message announcing Biden is the Obama chosen one was a slap at Hillary for her primary campaign ad about being ready to take a 3:00AM phone call. Denver may have mile high emotions and it could be fun to watch.

I agree with Pat Buchanan on this ... Georgia started the war.
