Favorite Verbal Joke

Back before the internet was in most homes, joke were mostly told verbally. Can you remember a 'verbal joke' you enjoyed then and still find funny today?

My all time favorite is:

This guy is standing on a corner snapping his fingers.

His friend comes up and asks him what he is doing.

He responds that he is keeping the elephants away.

His friend says: "You fool. There are no elephants in Ohio".

He says: "Works good, doesn't it....................." :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl
