Too early to be sure surely.

Post by Barman »

Today Estate agents in our area claimed an upturn in the market. Some announced they have already sold more this January than last.

The conveyance department at the solicitors where wifey works has definitely picked up this past week and are actually turning over a profit at last.

Prices of houses are no longer sinking like stones.

Fingers crossed or just a freaky week or two.:-3

I just hope that gmc and galbally does not spy your opening post. You have ruined all their fun of predicting that houses are going to be worth 50p by next year. There was Oscar, keep arguing with them, but they wouldn't have it. We even had a thread on the media scaring folk rigid and now you have to confirm what i've been telling them all along. Oh dear, thery'll be gloom in Scotsworld and Galballys shed tonight :wah:

Hmmmnnn, did I actually predict that houses are going to be worth 50p next year? Or is that a teeny weeny bit of hyperbole and sarcasm from the little English Whelk rejecter?

Though if you want my advice on listening to any advice whatsoever from estate agents right now about "returning" house prices, frankly I wouldn't if you can wait, just wait for a few months. :)

If you think we are doom mongers here, you should read Matthew Paris's article in the times, if you want doom and gloom, man that guy is depressed. :wah:

No its definetly Matthew Paris, he is a well known commentator, he used to be a tory MP, he is not very optimistic about the situation I have to say. I thought GMC and I were bad (well according to GB-worshipping Oscar), but he is really miserable, too miserable in my opinion.

Quite honestly, I know how he feels. And I haven't even got an investment portfolio.

Well, when you feel ready for it, here is the link. Be prepared if the whole credit crunch recession/depression thing is making you worried, its not pretty. To be honest I think he is too pessimistic about the future, there is always a way to come back from bad times, its just difficult thats all.

They only write the 'Doom and Gloom, we're all going to die' articles just for gallbladder and Scotsworld gmc.

Oscar has been telling them for months that it's the media scare tactics but they's much rather believe the Guardian newspaper because they only wear cordroy and it means they can blame nasty old Gordon Brown for everything including the invention of Ireland.

My glass is always half full, never half empty.:)

My place of work has taken on two extra staff this year, we are in the process of doubling the size of the factory.

I know it is not that good for all but it does show promise.:-6
