well Odie picked Sandra Bollock for me and thats cool because shes a Virginia girl too, but if i had to choose for myself i'd say Vivien Leigh because she does such a good southern accent!

Irma La Douce is a successful prostitute, living in Paris. A poor law student, Nestor le Fripé, falls in love with her. In order to keep her for himself, he assumes the disguise of a rich older man, Oscar, and takes many jobs. Finally no longer able to sustain his exhausting life, he "kills" Oscar, and is transported to the Devil's Island penal colony. He escapes and returns to Paris, where he and Irma reunite

Absolutely stupid story, Carolly - but whenever I walk along the Rue Caulaincourt.. or go past La Madeleine, I grin in remembrance.

The silly student who fell for the Paris lady of the footpaths knocked down her pimp, became her mec, (don't confuse mac and mec in French!) but couldn't bear to sell her, so he worked nights to be her only John, but was too whacked to get a lot out of this.. so killed his alter ego as you describe.... grin.. but he did manage to get her en cloque (preggers).. etc And when he got back from Devils Is - All ended in schmaltz mode.

Terribly sweet... and I'm just going to barf.

Paris buisnesseuses are not like this... grin. in my limited, but not totally non existent experience. Law students of course might be.
