Floating flooring

Post by fuzzywuzzy »

Ahhhhh I'm putting a floating floor down at the moment . It looked really simple in the video.:-5 Alas nothing is ever simple though is it. Looks fantastic once it's down though. The room looks like it has polished oak floor boards.

I didn't see anyone using a drop saw in the video though . but it seems that's all i'm using at the moment . OH well it's not a waste the offcuts will be used up in another room.

At least it's not like tiling I hate tiling

I've installed wood flooring in a previous house as well as marble tile. Challenging but saved a great deal of expense!

Well I've finished one room .........sort of.......... You see you have have to take the skirting boards off and it's time to put them back on again. BUT ........they need painting. Isn't that always the way? Then of course the walls will need a sprinkle of paint to bring them up to scratch with the skirting boards.

I'm such an idiot.:-5

We have wood floors fuzz...but your right, tiling is the worst....does a number on your knees. Hubs used to do tiling but his back & knees started hurting and yes, he had the knee pads on, etc. Let a younger guy do these jobs.

Funny thing about the younger guy thing :wah:

I asked my fourteen year old to drop saw some cuts for me ............he said "okay " and off he went.

Problem!!!!!! I thought his dad had taught him how to saw with it. His dad thought I had taught him..............We both thought he'd used one at school

NOPE!!!!!................................. Well he knows now. :wah: My god the boy could of lost both his hands :-2

I found out because I called him "lightening" (never hits the same place twice) when he handed over the planks. I told him he could have done a better job of it. OOPS!!! His reply was "I've never used one before!!!" OH DEAR GOD. I asked if he'd used one with dad and he said he wasn't allowed then I asked about his school woodwork classes and he said they won't allow them to use it.

well I guess he knows how to use one now ........the cuts at least got straighter.:D
