Control your child’s net activities .

Post by Apolonius »

Statistics reveal that 90% of 8-16 year olds access sites with adult content on the internet. I wish to prevent my ten year old son from venturing into these forbidden sites. He has been recently initiated into using the internet and we have listed certain sites which he can visit on our PC at home. But I would just like to take some precaution. Is there any help?

Welcome! :-6

Hopefully this won't be your only visit to our fair Garden. Net Nanny is supposed to be really good, though I don't have kids & can't say firsthand. We have many expert-types here, so I'm sure you'll get loads of advice.

Lots of other sources of goon information.

IMO supervision, use of a machine in a public place, logging (don't let them be administrator!), encouraging reporting of "problems" are the most important.

I don't bother with net nanny or any of the other stuff. My kids have a forum they go to where all their friends are on...from school, etc. As for Q, he only goes to Club Penquin, Nickolodean or Disney.com
