It's a beautiful day here today. Betty, her children and I are enjoying the sun in the garden...gone are all thoughts of cardi snatching and the like...well, for the moment :sneaky:

The cardi is an illusion, a human construct in response to fear of a possible chill in the weather. Wearing it is a sign of ignorant sheepishness, of the kind that might include evil rituals like tea drinking.

*sigh*..... There was a time when I tried to infiltrate the Cornish Cardi Company. Yes for selfish reasons. My own pleasures. I came up short with my knit one pearl one and my needles lay idle in a drawer, testament to broken promises and dropped stitches. Efforts proved fruitless and resembled a scarf with arms. Still, a little stuffing later and it makes a suitable draft excluder.

Not a cardigan but a valiant effort

Betty and I were ready to welcome you into the fold. We had already agreed that you would hold the honorary title of Sir Arnold of the Cable. We didn't want perfection, we would have worn a scarf with arms (very briefly) as a tribute to your sterling efforts.

But what happened? Incredibly, we heard no more from you or the other upstart who shall be nameless (Uncle Kram). Our backs are broad, Snowfire, our hearts are ever open...but this rejection was too hard for us to bear. We remain deeply saddened and hurt.

The recently appointed CEO, an Australian who is rumoured to dance with weeds in her hair, hopes to personally inspect the local industry soon to check that no unwarranted infiltration has taken place. Dropped stitches will not be tolerated, she is reported to have stated. Nor will pink cowboy hats.

Thats a shame. I've acquired the skill of raffia work and am in the process of making a range of jaunty cowboys hats in various appropriate bright pastel colours in readiness for the next FG meet. I have refrained from making a pink one out of respect for one of our founder FG meeters. Besides pink clashes with my vast collection of designer shirtery

Good to have you on board, Pammie. Betty and I need a strong voice at the helm, particularly at this time of expansion. Potential infiltration and "sniggers" are rife at present. We have our reputation to uphold, and second rate garments and unwarranted scoffs cannot be tolerated.

I only talk to the worms before I eat them, and that only happens when I'm at the bottom of the garden in a sulk. I wasn't sulking at Theia's!!
