I hate it when you spend fifty bucks to go to the amusement park hop on the rollercoaster then when you get to the top you go flying off the track and plummet 150' to the ground.

That can really shake you up ! Thats my pet peeve.

I get fed up when you go to the supermarket for the weekly shop and the shelves are empty of the stuff you really need. You either have to go back the next day or find another supermarket.....think I'll have to start shopping on line....lifes too short for all this stuff.

I hate how drive-up ATMs are situated so high. I actually have to unbuckle and get on my knees to reach usually. And I'm technically an inch above average height. I wonder if it's my crappy little car or what.

Clint, I am soooo with you on this one. That bass that thumps your whole body and rattles your windows....very obnoxious. What makes those thoughtless jerks think everyone else wants to listen to that garbage???

The cool thing is, in my area, they are considering making this illegal. The proposed bill is anything that can be heard within ten feet of the car is a noise violation and can get you a ticket. I really hope this passes!!!

I once worked in a City Hall that had rock walls that were 18" thick. We heard this low rumble and thought is was the building's ancient boiler acting up. We searched and searched for the problem until I had to leave for a meeting. Whe I got to the parking lot, I discovered the source of the noise. It was Honda with a couple of teens in it, listening to their "music". Their sound system was actully sending vibrations through that 3 story stone building.

We had a similiar situation during our ACT tests. A kid actually got up, ran out of the room and outside, where we heard some yelling and then a very brief scuffle. Then the music abruptly stopped and the guy ran back in a few minutes later, shirt untucked, hair mussed up and a little bruised. He proceeded to sit down and finish the ACTs. :wah:

The dufuses that "tailgate" like about 10ft behind your car on the Highway when you're in the right hand lane. No matter what speed you are going. When you're going 70 they're 10ft off your back bumber, when you're going 60 or 50 same thing!!! Why don't they just pass!!! :wah:

i was just coming off shift for some much-needed sleep when my nitwit next-door neighbor had her car radio set to 'LOUDEST RAP POSSIBLE' station, just sitting in her driveway, not going anywhere. my house windows were vibrating. so i went over to her and gave her an earful about why she shouldn't assume everyone wants to listen to her crap, and i was still in uniform...so she started to cry :-1 waaaaah :-1 ...guess i'm a bully, but that is disturbing the peace. some day i shall force her to listen to hours and hours of opera :D

Huge difference from driving down the freeway jammin' and driving down a neighborhood street with your music cranked. You're referring to driving down the freeway, right Nomad? Cuz I can't imagine you being so thoughtless as to drive through your neighborhood disturbing people.

Babyrider,

I dont know if you ride a Harley or not but my best guess is more than a few in your group do. I can say for certain Ive never had my music louder than a couple of HD's coming down the road. Harley Davidsons generate some pretty obnoxious noise pollution. They have to go through residential areas to get home right ? Do you reprimand them for disturbing the peace ?

That was my obscure way of not saying what should be obvious, Nomad. There's a difference between driving down the street blaring your tunes at all hours, rattling your neighbors windows and waking the dead and riding into your own neighborhood on your bike. Most of these guys will try to be quiet, unless of course they hate their neighbors. They don't go around looking to p!ss people off. And if they happen to do so, well, you don't have one to deal with, you have them all. We don't hear any complaints.

Having spent three hours driving nonstop on Hwy 99 today here in California, I was reminded of one of my pet peeves. PEOPLE THAT DRIVE 55 MILES PER HOUR IN THE LEFT LANE AND WON'T PULL OVER COME HELL OR HIGH WATER. They won't pass anyone on their right, just pace them and block all the lanes.

People who do not know how to drive on the snow or ice....they think that just because they have a large truck or SUV, that they can drive the normal speed limit and not put themselves or anyone else in danger.

Once when I was in my little Sunbird, a bunch of cowboys passed me going way too fast on a two lane road....they gave me the "evil eye" as they passed. About two miles down the road, they were in the ditch....I just waved and smiled as I continued on my way.

Also, people who take up two parking spaces because they don't want their precious BMW to get scratched up in the parking lot...if it's that important, leave it at home in the garage!

You are really baaaaad BR! :)

Years ago, when parking in a "Shopping Mall" parking lot, I used to park at the very "last" spot furthest from the buildings. One night, I went to the Mall to return something. I parked in my furthest away spot, (under a lamp post) went in to the Mall for just fifteen minutes. As I was walking back to my car, at a distance I could see something was not right with it, it was leaning. As I got closer, I then saw both the "Drivers" side tires were "totally flat"! Some SOB "slashed" them beyond repair!!! I called the Police. Of course I had only "one" spare, so when the Police got there, they filled out a vandalizum report I needed for my Insurance Co. & they were kind enough to give me a ride to the nearest Gas Station, taking one of the slashed tires with me. Where they waited (at this time it was going on around 11pm) for the Gas Station attendant to put "tire patches" on the slashes, put in a "tire tube" (Back then some tires still used them) & told me not to go more than 20mph, it was just to get me home that night . The Police took me back to my car, I thanked them a hundred times, I put the patched up tire on my car, and slowly drove home. (It took almost three hours, for a fifteen minute Mall visit) So . . . . . . . . today I park only 4 or 5 spaces away from the very next car. Can't break old habits you know, expecially if you like a "ding-free" car, as I do!!!! :driving:

Anyway another peeve of mine (I'm sure I'm the only 1) are people who are so impatient on escalators that they always have to barge past everyone else in front of them, only to when they hit the top, look around lost and then continue to walk slowly.

I mean aghhh, if you are in some hurry then go use the stairs, and not annoy the rest of us!! :-5

I dont take up two spaces but I dont really blame the ones that do. A car is a large investment and one idiot with kids getting out of their car can ruin a nice paint finish. People will leave chips, scrapes and dings in your car and leave you to foot the bill. Thats just FRICKIN RUDE !!!

Cleveland is so notorious for having terrible icy winters that I have no sympathy for people who buy 1)rear wheel drive vehicles or 2)are past the point where they have obviously been driving for quite a few years and they can't handle the concept of driving slowly but not so slowly that they're actually being a driving hazard. If you live in an area, get used to the area's quirks. How hard is that?

For example:

Last winter I was driving down a street that has quite a few turns and dips and areas where you just can't see the traffic in front of you. It was a bit snowy, but not too bad.

The car in front of me was driving 25. It was a 35 MPH area, so I figured, OK, this person's driving slowly and carefully, that's fantastic. Obviously 25 is a good speed in this area. Well, the speed limit changed to 25mph and the car in front of me SLOWED DOWN to 15 mph. Why? Why would you do that when we'd already established 25 is a good speed? Why drive 10 mph under just on principle?

Worse than that, I almost got rear ended because someone actually doing the speed limit of 25 (heaven forbid) couldn't see me doing 15mph from around the turn and had to hit the brakes in the ice. If you're really that freaked out about the ice that you feel you have to drive like a jerk, or you're driving some rear wheel drive vehicle, stay out of the snow. No one wants to cause an accident because they're foced to brake around you.
