Sentences You do not often hear....

Post by Oscar Namechange »

I read some-where once that there was a chap at a well to do function and he observed a very refined elderly woman mingling. As she went to greet another guest, she was heard to say... 'Good Evening... I am Mick Jagger's Mother'... As he wrote, there was only one person In the world who could say that and with such dignity.

I got to say a sentence this evening that I bet hardly any-one has ever got to say or Is likely to say.

I have been helping our pals In the food out-let tonight taking telephone orders. I was half way through one order with a customer on the phone:

" So that Is a 12 Inch Seafood Pizza with extra Anchovies,

2 X half pound Cheese-burgers, both with salad and relish

3 Regular Fries,

Could you just hold the line a moment? Only I have just been Informed that my hair Is on fire."

Yes, he held and even asked me If I was OK. I assured him It was a minor blaze and one of the chefs had thrown a glass of water over my head. Yeah, really... he did !!! That will teach me to stand too close to the grill. I have shorter hair on one side of my head now :wah:

My mom still harasses us for a time her shirt caught on fire and my brothers and I all acted casual. "by the way, you're on fire." "no really." "yeah, he's right." "yep. you're on fire." Followed by her antics trying to put it out... during which we stayed seated. We were about 7, 9 and 11 at the time. Rather mellow for young children watching their mother go up in flames. :p

Anyway, glad you didn't lose all the hair. ;)
