Would this offend you ?

While in Hawaii there was every age of a obese woman in a bikini.

beyond getting past the rolls & the bottom of the bikini that couldn't be found there was

also the stretch marks shown so proudly.?

This was gross to my husband & perhaps I'm too modest.?

Don't get me started on the speedo's on large men... Large as in obese..:wah:

would this turn you off - gross you out ?? offend you.?

nope.

I'm too self conscious about myself to seriously judge anyone else... although some plastic surgery I've seen on folks has made me question their sanity..

Some of the obese woman seemed to be pretty confident.

I have to admit - the stretch marks were tough to see.

Bronson's woman - that's a full figure & not tough to see

these woman had rolls & rolls to where the bottom of the bikini couldn't be found.

I am neither offended or grossed. Well maybe sometimes grossed.

You will never see a pic my wife took of me coming out of the ocean after doing some surfing. I wouldn't call it gross, but damn, it was a hide your children moment.:wah:

Never been anything like obese or anything like that. Certainly properly dressed, as it were for the occasion.

Point being, didn't see myself as others did.

I am willing to bet, that more and more exposure to skin will result in a better respect for modesty.

Sorry Patsy, I have to be brutally honest here...

If my husband thought the way your husband does then I'd be ashamed of him....

I am assuming this was on a vacation and assuming these large ladies were on or near a beach.

The reason we have young girls with eating disorders and Body dysmorphic disorder Is because of attitudes like this.

Hawaii Is not middle England with low temperatures but 29-32°C In the height of summer. If It was on the coast It goes without saying that people of all types and ages are going to be scantily dressed or In Bikini's. What Is your husband saying ? That only slim people can wear beach wear on the coast?

be as honest as you like - I'm not a delicate flower & was looking forward to your reply.:-2

My husband & I go to Hawaii yearly - meet people from around the world.

My husband didn't appreciate the stretch marks as the rolls & rolls of fat hide the bikini.

as I stated. - there's nothing here that say's my husband stated only twiggy can wear a bikini - where is that statement.? NO I'm not ashamed of my husband & have no reason to be - do you know what my husband is thinking?

Nothing has to be mentioned - he just looked the other direction - nothing new to us as we see this every year.

Attitudes don't make people fat Oscar - filling the hole constantly makes you fat..

Some woman are sooooo large with a small bikini -that there is really no reason to wear anything. Some are from the UK.

If my husband & I were offended we wouldn't visit every year - doesn't bother us - it's their body not ours.

I don't have stretch marks but then I've never had a child. I would think mothers WOULD be proud of their stretch marks though... nothing to be ashamed of in any case.

Kind of judgmental there, Patsy.

It's extremes isn't it, I would be just as willing to look the other way if there were an anorexic in a bikini in front of me or a woman with rolls covering her bikini bottoms. More a horror thing than anything else and possibly embarrassment for them although I'd know that after a while I'd realise they are not bothered at all so why am I and why am I covering up my now size 14 body after having my third child :-3

You wouldn't catch me in a bikini now, but you would have three years ago when I was size 10 and the right side of 40 :wah:

Stretch marks In the main are the scars of childbirth..... would your husband be equally grossed If he saw a car crash victim with scars on the beach?

If he was my husband I'd be wondering when he was going to find me gross as I aged.

ETA oh I don't have stretch marks from having the children either, I have stretch marks on my upper legs from rapid weight loss when I was 19, assumed I'd be prone then when having children, but nope, nothing, just seem to have an extra layer of blubber all round at the moment.

I live near Brighton Beach, which the Russian denizens renamed "Little Odessa". Another example of their take-over. Every Russian woman, no matter what, wears a very small bikini. It's funny when I lived on a beach in Massachusetts I was strolling along my beach & this extremely obese woman in a very small bikini walked by. I was fascinated, so I followed her (she was walking with a "regular" woman). I was amazed, & Proud! that no one she passed gave a second look, except me, of course. & you know what???!!! She was Russian! one of the first in my town.

I ignore it because if the lady enjoys herself more in this outfit, & it seems she does, it's not my business. Plus, there are too many of them to ignore! I have changed beaches, btw. Not that it helps much around here.

I stated I thought the stretch marks on these large women were tough to see

where's the judgement call? These large Large purple stretch marks were tough to see and as I said - it's their body not mine.

I also stated these large women seem to be confident with a I don't care attitude.

I also stated I may be too modest as I don't wear a bikini - I could - I'm 5'7" 140lbs- 55 yrs. old. No I'm not worried about my husband & our relationship - thanks Oscar

I don't wear a bikini due to scars from several surgeries - that's my hang up.

Have I been larger - yes - has my husband loved me small or large - yes Oscar he has.

Size has nothing to do with a solid marriage.

Oscar - didn't realize this thread was about my husband - don't worry about my husband.

Thank's any way - life has thrown curve balls our way

We're solid

He'd like me in a bikini

and for those who are confident to wear a bikini - you go girl - more power to ya, if they're comfortable than I'm happy.

It's similar to looking at someone covered with tattoos up to and including on the face or a pink mohican haircut and a nail through the nose. Why is how someone looks offensive? Some people find the sight of any part of the female body in public offensive and provocative, we think them strange but really what's the difference aren't they basically the same attitude?

Men and women are biologically attracted to people who appear fit for the reason of reproductive child bearing. It's part of the selection process. Obesity gives the appearance of a person who might be unfit. Fitness is short lived and so there's a small window of physical attraction. In today's world there's more in the way of intellectual attraction than there was in the past, so that may give way to the physical attraction. I know that as I've I aged, intellectual attraction has become stronger. Now all I need to do is educate myself. :wah: Not that it matters as much as I'm past the stage of desiring to pass on my genes. Though I do still find myself in admiration of pretty people.

There is, however, no justification for ridicule.

Of course this thread is about your husband.... seriously.... what did you expect when you write:

" While in Hawaii there was every age of a obese woman in a bikini.

also the stretch marks shown so proudly.?

This was gross to my husband & perhaps I'm too modest

Frankly, your comments are offensive.

If these ladies were on vacation, chances are they have spent all year working and saving for that holiday. Chances are they may come from colder states or countries and that Is the first time they could feel the sun on their skin.... why should they be judged because they are over-weight or have stretch marks..

By stating Patsy that you are too modest to wear a bikini and show your scars, you are saying that these women have no modesty and be ruled by your standards.

Do you not have any concept of how big the porn market is for larger ladies? Does It not occur to you that some men like their women big? there are even dating sites.

I just hope your husband is the only one with these attitudes... what next ? The beach police for over sized women?

My husband has just reminded me of something....

When my niece was 7 years old she was savaged by a German Shepherd. She has spent years under-going skin grafts and her arms and legs are covered with grafts and scars, some of them still very angry and ugly.

Now she's 20 years old and just had a baby she's having trouble getting rid of the baby weight..

Once a year she likes to go to Spain or Turkey for a holiday.

So the question Is... should she keep covered up In case a man out there finds her scars and baby weight gross ?

Most/all women in my age group are past the age of conceiving, why limit yourself to women your own age group ?

I am at least old enough to be your big brother (65 and today I feel it) My oldest son is 47 and even he is looking old lately.

Passing on my genes came way down the list of my priorities way back then, don't think they ever came into it.

But slowing down physically has never slowed down my aspiration mentally.................and there's still some ladeeeze out there....I might.......if they asked nicely.

You're welcome. There's a sense of disappointment when the members of the opposite sex who are selecting you are past the age of conceiving if one is aware of the biology behind what drives us. That's why i think that if a relationship does not evolve beyond sex on a conscious level it most likely won't last. Not that that's a bad thing.

I suppose what some men refer to as a mid-life crisis is when they experience the initial shock of physically attractive, conceiving-able females looking at younger men. It hits them that they're no longer that handsome young man. That's difficult to deal with, more so than the sex itself, I think.

Then there are those older men who bark out of their cars and trucks at my 23 and 27 year old daughters as they jog around the neighborhood. I used to become angry about that until I realize they're simply unconscious concerning their biology.

If I can't respect a first responder????????

You have contradicted yourself right through this thread...and again here...

I your husband Is a first responder and has seen It all.... why would you post that your husband found over-weight women with stretch marks on a beach In bikini's as gross ?

The two sentences are a contradiction In terms.......

Or were you really looking for members to come here and post that your husband Is right and over-weight women shouldn't bare all on a beach and some how condone his attitude ?

It looks as though you yourself are not happy with your husbands attitude towards women and this thread Is In the hope members will tell you he's right...

If matters not If your husband is a first responder, that has absolutely nothing to do with It.... It's his attitude of finding some women gross

As It happens Patsy... stretch marks are the least of my worries.... I don't have any but If I did, I would still wear a bikini on the beach.

The large stretch marks as I described were gross

I admitted - my husband & others didn't care to see them - neither did I. it's not attractive.

I find it interesting that these large women were confident to show all.

You haven't hit a nerve with me at all Patsy... why would you ? I myself am lucky... I have no stretch marks and no lines on my face. I'm lucky but some women are not...

Women's stretch marks, scars and weight are life's experiences and they are what makes some women the women they are. It's called life. There Is nothing wrong with any woman baring all on a beach but everything wrong with your husbands attitude.

Oscar & snooze

if your confused - don't reply

get the dictionary out - look up obese

I found the stretch marks gross - my husband found the stretch marks gross and just

looked in another direction - it's not attractive to either of us.

if this thread is upsetting/confusing to you both - put that dull knife away and put me on ignore. there no confusion now...:-2

Have a good day

I'm not sure what the point of this thread was. It was bound to offend a lot of people and anyone that agrees that they're disgusted by vacationing fat people in bathing suits on a beach would come off as jerks.

Let me clarify. Patsy, what did you hope to accomplish with this thread? You could have talked about how beautiful Hawaii was, how good the food was, all the nice people you met, yet you instead decided to comment on how "gross" the fatties were. How about some pretty photos of Hawaii instead of the judgmental negativity? Or is this all you got out of your trip?

gmc was being sarcastic Patsy.

I appreciate sarcasm and Irony tend to be limited to the English but a small portion did escape into Scotland around the 1930's...this Is not to be confused with delusion which Is a disease the SNP suffer from.

This thread has the maximum amount of misunderstandings I have ever seen in one place......including the Middle East......and no I don't want to point them out.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth
