Hopkins chastised the “little sweaty jocks” for “sending us Ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians”

Katie Hopkins criticised by Piers Morgan over 'repulsive' Glasgow Ebola comment - People - News - The Independent

Is she really that vile or has she cornered the market in making near the cuff remarks which then bring her lots of attention :-3

To be honest I did think on first hearing the lady in question was moved from Glasgow to London.....Why?

Then later it was revealed her flight had come through London on it's way from Africa anyway, plus the specialist hospitals are in London.

She is just a gobby mare that gets her rocks off by the reaction to her outbursts, she hasn't even got the excuse of being funny with it, although it is laughable.

She's no different to some of the posters ForumGarden has to put up with. If people like that have the space to write where they can be seen then it's up to the rest of us to ignore them, I suppose, since the reaction is what they crave. Personally, I'd rather they didn't have the space to write on in the first place, I prefer attractive surroundings to graffiti on the walls.

Some graffiti can be very decorative though.

As for the headline, "Katie Hopkins criticised by Piers Morgan over 'repulsive' Glasgow Ebola comment", it merely describes an instance of the unacceptable criticized by the unendurable.

I'm aware that there are several things one must avoid saying in public about Piers Morgan. Should he at some point find himself behind bars I might go further than merely unendurable.

She's no different to most people but I'd rather have someone like her who has the balls to say what she thinks than those treacly sweet celebs who are all smiles and oozing fake Insincerity just to stay on the TV... I bet they are right nasty pieces of work off camera.

The Issue Is not Katie Hopkins who's looking for attention but an Insatiable media who follow her every move on Twitter and Invite her on to TV shows knowing full well she's likely to offend someone. Rather like asking Frankie Boyle to present hearts of gold and then complaining because he's Insulted the disabled bloke.

The media created Katie Hopkins from the moment she appeared on reality tv... We all watch the programmes, but now, you're complaining because they've got a bit too big for their boots. Another product of the media was White Dee. Everyone tuts when she's snapped on another holiday while on benefits but the media created her and now follow her every move.

If the media were not following them In every step and logging on to Twitter every hour, there would be nothing to print. If she's taking advantage of that and earning herself money, then good on her. The only way you'll stop people like Katie Hopkins although, I'd actually put her In a class way above the rest of the Ilk, Is do away with reality shows like Big Brother.

I don't agree with everything she says but I do remember the outrage when she stated on breakfast tv that fat people are fat because they eat too much. Yet, she went further than that and to prove her point, deliberately piled on 4 stone to prove she could lose It again by eating less.

https://uk.celebrity.yahoo.com/gossip/o ... 49095.html

The Irony Is the looks of disgust at her comments by those treacly sweet presenters who have to feign disgust at her words when It's actually them who get her on their shows every time.

"I think you can tell a great deal from a name. For me, there are certain names that I hear and I think ‘Urgh’. For me, a name is a shortcut of finding out what class that child comes from and makes me ask, ‘Do I want my children to play with them?’ There’s a whole set of things that go with children like that and that’s why I don’t like those sorts of children. ‘Hi, this is my daughter Charmaine’. I hear: ‘Hi, I am thick and ignorant.’’

They know that If they have her on every other day, they'll get the viewers but to avoid themselves looking bad, they have to feign shock and horror at every thing she says. If she was on the show and said nothing offensive, they know, viewers would drop and they'd need another cash cow to prop up failing careers and ratings... The Finnegin's, the Scofield's and The Wiloughby's of the world who need people like Katie Hopkins to keep up the ratings and justify their untalented limited success and keep them In tv...

What makes Katie Hopkins so different from the rest of the reality tv Z list wannabe's Is that she's highly educated, a successful business woman and she has balls.

For too long, tv shows have encouraged the likes of Jade Goody onto their shows basically to laugh at how stupid they are. White Dee Is another who has been criminally manipulated In that way but Hopkins Is no fool. She runs rings around them and long may she continue, let's face It... It's not difficult to make Holly Wiloughby look dumb Is It ?

I partially agree with you. Anyone wishing to be a celebrity should be aware of the pitfalls of the media but with reality tv, I find It a whole new sinister ball game.

The only reality tv show I'll watch, Is The Apprentice because at least the contestants are like Katie Hopkins ie relatively Intelligent. No disrespect to Theia here but It Is the likes of Big Brother that Is manufactured to find a bunch of halfwitts knowing that middle England will sit on their sofa's sneering and laughing at them. It's not so much that even... we as a nation tend to be perfectly happy laughing at these Idiots but once the shows are finished and they start making a name for themselves In their own right, oh hang on, we don't like that. Then the nation turns on them for getting too big for their boots.

No. They are not particularly intelligent at all. They are cringeingly inept at what they are supposed to be good at after furnishing the viewers with elevated opinions of themselves. So in that respect Katie Hopkins fits in very well

Actually I think you are picking on the wrong programme. Most of the winners and final contestants on BB are actually really nice likeable people, including White Dee.

Katie was a contestant on The Apprentice and I'm a Celebrity, maybe she has BB in her sights (there are rumours), but she will be voted out pretty soon as the majority of the public don't like people who are basically nasty all the time. The last series of The Apprentice didn't show me any relatively intelligent people either. They all seemed so stuck into their own agenda's they couldn't take any form of constructive criticism and then put that advice to their advantage. They are just self centred individuals who know better than anyone else.

I'm off to think of people who have won talent shows and become too big for their boots. As opposed to those that won and then behaved badly and lost the respect of the public. Are there many of those?

I'd hazard a guess that the majority of celebrities that are too big for their boots didn't become 'celebrity' from a reality show in the first place.

Oscar, I don't sneer and laugh at the contestants on BB. I like and loathe them alternately, I change my mind and then change it back again. I like watching the various relationships that develop. The programme is a damn good diversion for me even when I know that the production team is manipulating most of it. It's simple really, I like BB.

I have always loathed Big Brother. Not only is it an insult to the genius of the author whose name it has plagiarised, but as with all 'reality' TV programmes it bears no relation to reality whatsoever. The characters are always selected to be those that will most flambouyantly exaggerate themselves in order to become a 'Celebrity' - which, most sickening of all, they invariably do - not because of having any talent or intelligence at all, but merely for the fact that they've appeared on some moronic TV show that entrances thousands of morons by showing them CCTV footage. FFS there's plenty of websites where you can go & watch the real thing through Council CCTV 24 hours, LIVE - only that is more interesting, as (unlike BB) none of it is staged. It's REAL life.

Just what is the fascination it holds? Come the next series they should decorate the place & direct the cameras at the walls so as to observe the effect of the ongoing curing of the pigmented coatings in real time. Then get loads of idiots to make premium rate phone calls in the stupid belief that it's going to make any difference to the outcome whatsoever, to vote on which colour should be disposed of.

I've voted once by telephone, back in the days of Pop Idol. But I don't consider people to be idiots if they choose to vote for BB contestants...it's their choice how to spend their money

I think you under rate being a presenter, it may look easy, just 'talking' on auto cue......but watching guest presenters or new ones make you appreciate the decent ones.

The concept behind BB was brilliant, the first few series, before the stunts and manipulation progressed to ridiculous proportions, was fantastic TV.

Unfortunately the format has been run into the ground, the housemates/contestants are all 'Up for it' they all go into it knowing to expect the unexpected and 'Playing' their own game, which was absent from the first few series.

If our Katie is so intelligent, why the desperate need to shock ?

She is as clever as the pretty boy who's name escapes me, who's only claim to fame is being thick.

Who says she has a desperate need to shock? That's your assumption. She was pretty vile when she first appeared on The Apprentice. I don't think she's desperate at all, she speaks her mind which I find refreshingly honest. You don't know she's deliberately trying to shock. You're making It up as you go along.

I like the idea that, I think was suggested on Mock The Week. When they get kicked out of the house they could have a sniper sat in the tree.

As for the Katie Hopkins Wiki link - that's a typical example of what a 'celebrity' is these days. Nothing to do with talent whatsover. She appears on one pseudo-reality show (which she doesn't even win), then as a result qualifies as a 'celebrity' in order to appear on another crappy 'reality' show made up of a load of other nobody-ities. Apart from these 2 non-events, nothing.

OK she is a lovely lady.........a couple of her quotes.

Did you ever watch the Christmas special of Extra's ? Ricky Gervais had It absolutely spot on with his portrayal of Big Brother. He enters the house for celeb BB and asks June Sapong who one woman In there Is and what has she done. She replies that her son was murdered. He says, In BB because you're sons been murdered? June says ' yeah but she has got a single coming out'.

Just sums up the entire farce that constitutes a celeb.

Neither the Christmas Special nor the series had an apostrophe. The word used was a plural: one extra, many extras. Off-hand I can't think of any sentence at all in which "Extra's" would be grammatical.

That makes three of us. Had to look her up, now I have I don't care what she thinks or want to read her column.

incidentally Pauline Cafferkey isn't glaswegian.

Most scots would just ignore this and I don't think she should be prosecuted. If the scots, irish welsh and english can't take the piss out of each other without being accused of racism what fun is there. She's a nonentity trying to be offensive who cares what she says, piers morrgan is a pretentious nonenity overly impressed with himself.

The film that was made outside my window involved using locals. I know one of them. That particular extra's pay was a pittance.

You missed the capitalization: "Extra's". By all means have a second shot. Before you post, check it's a sentence and not a headline - I can manage a headline that starts with the word, but not a sentence.

For that matter you wouldn't get a capital 'I' whenever It begins a new word either.

"In honour of the film he named his Son Extra. Extra's birthday was the following day".

What the hell - it's a grammatical sentence.

So, the rumours were right, she has entered the Big Brother House.

Hmmm wonder what will happen!

I am so glad I don't watch 'reality' TV, with no offense meant to those who do.

My understanding of "reality" is that it's what happens in the real world to real people, as opposed to happening in front of cameras in response to directorial instruction. I don't see how Big Brother in particular, or television in general, fits into the first category when it so obviously fits perfectly into the second.

Your understanding of "reality" doesn't exist on TV. All are scripted in some sense, even animal documentaries where action is cut & pasted to suit the humans.

The "Directorial instruction" is more than in a sporting match such as football, but the 'Reality' comes from the individuals reactions to those directions, just like football.

Not everybody likes football, or reality shows, and as reality shows go, this is scrapping the barrel.................but I still assert the premise of the show is brilliant.

The program/money makers have over used and abused the format, they should have stopped it while it still worked.

Added as an after thought.......I haven't weakened and watched it yet.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

And, Alexander O'Neil now.

I'm not finding any of them interesting, apart from Katie.
