The War on Terror, what's it all about eh?

Right, said I would. So question: how do you have a war on "terror" and is it also possible to have a war on "nightmares" or a war on "empathy" it seems a bit non-sequiter to me. But seriously is it possible to win such a war, in a military sense? Has the invasion and occupation of Iraq improved or worsened the situation?. Your thoughts please.
