Did you know that when they're facing you directly - when it seems they are looking you in the eye - they aren't paying attention to you at all? It's when they turn away, and you only see one eye ... that's when they're studying you, watching every little twitch........ unless they're looking through the other eye at something else.

Back in the 50's why did they tell children to hide under the desk if an atomic bomb were being dropped on them ?

Those little troughs that hold the pencils weren't very deep. The vibration from the bombs would likely shake the pencils loose and they would roll to the floor. This would cause a tripping hazard as everyone ran willy-nilly in blind panic. Putting the children under their desks placed them in reach of any pencils that may fall, so they could pick them up quickly. Then everyone could blindly panic in complete confidence that they wouln't be tripping over any pencils.

I got in trouble for that....................

In the midst of "the missile's of October" my sister (11 years older then me) drew out her savings and went to the market with my mother to get supplies (we lived in suburbia so Calif) because they were scared (I was too young 1st grade) we got all kinds of canned food, candles, etc. and we have no basements so we put everything i a towel cupboard in the hall and we were to come there if we heard sirens (I thought it was a game) anyways I wasn't suppose to tell everybody and I told the whole neighborhood and I shared about it in class...........:-3
Someone asked me why I swear so much. I said, "Just becuss.":)

Consider a spin 1/2 free particle moving along the x-axis with a projection of (1/2)h/2p along the z-axis. The particle originates at large negative x and moves to the right. At x= 0, this particle experiences a spin-dependent force of the form V(x,s) = -Ad(x) [s+ + s-], where s+ and s- are the raising and lowering operators for spin, and A > 0. The particle has mass m, energy E, such that k2 = 8p2mE/h2, and the incident particle has unit amplitude. What is the probability of finding a particle with projection -(1/2)h/2p (along the z-axis) moving to the left (along the -x axis)?

Four surgeons were taking a coffee break and were discussing their work. The first said, "I think accountants are the easiest to operate on. You open them up and everything inside is numbered."

The second said, "I think librarians are the easiest to operate on. You open them up and everything inside is in alphabetical order."

The Third said, "I like to operate on electricians. You open them up and everything inside is color-coded."

The fourth surgeon said, "I like Engineers...they always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end..."

ACC....do you believe that the four surgeons above are really drinking coffee, or , taking into account their statements.....are they on wacky baccy ???

I value your considered opinion :D

In my opinion, to which we have agreed we are all entitled, you are not interested in a fair answer so much as continuing a childish vendetta.

No "childish vendetta" here. Just asking simple questions in the hopes of getting your input. Haven't we agreed before that it doesn't always have to be about me?

Let it go.
