Yep and all with a big fat stogie gripped firmly in their teeth.

William Wallace is a legend to the Scots from a time when Scotland and England enjoyed the odd skirmish, around the 14th century. Wallace, "Braveheart" to his friends, became symbolic of Scottish indipendance but good ole Mel Gibson spruced him up hollywood style to make him a clean cut hero, even though he was partial to the odd murder himself. True thats probably par for the course back then but Hollywood does like to sanitise things.

Most Scots however wont hear a thing said against him. LOL They like to dress up as him when the occasion of a friendly soccer match happens between England and Scotland (very rare nowadays cos theyre crap at football ) Just watch gmc dive on this if he reads it haha

You were just upset at the portrayal of the king of england as a psychotic murderer and his son as a homosexual. Most scots know it is a dramatisation, it was filmed in ireland and that the extras were from the Irish army and don't take it too seriously and just enjoy it.

Nice to see english football fans better appreciate that the union flag is not the same as the english one. Be proud of being english it's not your fault you were born there.:sneaky: We still find ourselves with a "parcel o rogues" except now we keep them in the numpty house.

Can't wait till they re-release rambo three-the one where rambo is helped by the nice mujahadeen in his fight against the nasty russian oppressors. I suspect the irony would be totally lost amid complaints about the sympathetic portrayal of terrorists.

What was so wrong with Braveheart? I am not well informed on that part of British history.

I think you either find history endlessly fascinating or boring. I'm afraid I am very much in the former camp. However I will resist the temptation apart from this.

for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.’
