The first contest was the 50/50. A bunch of guys from the Iron Mustangs bought tickets, and immediately handed their stubs over to me, so if they hit, Bullet would get 100% of the money instead of 1/2. Well guess what? One of those tickets was the one pulled. So we got the entire amount from the 50/50 drawing.
The next thing to be raffled off was a set of watches, one for a man, one for a woman, given as a set. Guess who hit that one? Yup. Me.
Blew me away. I told Bullet, "If we win anything else, I'm not coming up to claim it, they're going to think the whole thing was fixed!!"
Fortunately, we didn't win anything else, but the take from the cover charge, the HUGE batch of Jello shots, and the drawings, we walked out of there with over $1,500!!
There were a bunch of clubs represented tonight, too, which is always a good thing. All the Blue Angels, of course, Prejudged, Knights of the Road, Vietnam Vets, Highwaymen, Vigilantes, and Iron Mustangs were all present.
I love it how this community of bikers bands together to help one of their own when the sh!t hits the fan. You find out who your true friends are.
All in all, a great night was had by all. Made some new friends and caught up with some old ones.
Like the saying goes: "Bikers have more fun than people do."
