My neighbors brother in law was Deke Slayton.....I met him a few times. (was one of the Original seven)
Someone asked me why I swear so much. I said, "Just becuss.":)

I wasn't in a scene... I worked on it. If you do decide to look, it says
"Recordists" and then 2 names (we worked 12 hour shifts!!) mine and
then "Bob Marty". It won for Best Sound, Best Film Editing, and Best
Sound Effects Editing. So, if they gave out Oscars for MY job, I would
probably have one!! (More than that, other films I worked on have gotten
Oscars, too, and I have a pic around somewhere of me holding TWO of
them!!)
