My Old Dear.

Post by abbey »

Mum had a cateract removed last week, this week before her follow up appt

i managed to talk her into going private for the left eye as she had to wait 12 months on the NHS.:yh_glasse

The consultant called today and told her to go in on Monday at 1pm for her op,

as we had'nt asked how much this would cost mum said...

"You do realise the op will cost about £5000"

Me.."5000 quid! bloody norah you could have a facelift & tummy tuck for that"

Mum.."But i dont need a facelift & tummy tuck"

Me.." Wait till you're not as blind as a bat, look in the mirror and tell me that"

Mum laughed till her sides ached bless her.

And i feel awful now. :o

Have you ever said anything that you wish you could take back because it makes you feel bad later?

On a daily basis.

I had a spat with my boss the other day. She thought I was attacking her "methods"

(which I was) but I could have been more tactful. Best thing is to just get it out and worked through right away so bad feelings dont linger and grow which we did and everything is cool again.

I try not to repeat the same mistakes over and over but this life thing is tricky sometimes.

Im getting better at it though.

She laughed! She wouldn't have laughed if it hurt. Now go give her a hug & tell her you love her.

ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

i do stuff like this alllll the time. hmm...the last one was in a staff meeting. we were talking about this specific kid. i said he had "exotropia"...everyone looked at me like ....i said...you know he has crazy eyes...you don't know if he is looking over here....or here...or here...and i started jerking around...and everyone giggled (so unprofessional....i know...i suck)...i turned around and the cross cat teacher was behind me. she was looking over here....over here....over here....over there....(she has REALLY screwed up eyes). she was also doing this

Everyone says the wrong thing at times.. But you made your mother laugh, and laugh. That cant be a bad thing. Very funny thing you said. My mother never has her teeth in because they have never fit her properly. I cant stand to see her that way. And I hate it that she doesnt care anymore. When we are going out together.. I always say to her " Now go comb your hair, and put some teeth in"

And she always laughs and laughs. She knows me. Your mother knows you too.

Knows you wouldnt hurt her.
