Who Loves Storms?
Hey Guys!
It is storming here like CRAZY! I love it. I was just wondering if there were others out there that absolutely love thunderstorms?

I've experienced some major ones in Texas that were both exhilarating and scary.
As for rainfall, I've seen 6" in a day.

Tornados are bad around here, two category 4 in five years.
But to me nothing is more soothing than to lie in bed and be lulled to sleep by the storm.

No kidding, I am in Tennessee right on the Missippi River, we get our fair share of rain.
Does any one else think thunder storms are sexy? :yh_blush

I love storms, prefer to be indoors rather than outside but love to watch lightning and really deafening thunder.
We haven't had a good storm here all year, keep forcasting them but we don't get them!:(

Am I the only one here who absolutely HATES storms? I don't mind a good, hard rain without lightning and thunder.

I Love Rain, Snow and pretty much all "miserable" weather. I hate the sunny days no air to breathe and sunburn
Blessed be.

Love 'em! Nothing like a HUGE T-Storm to bring a smile to my face!
A decent size one is brewing outside at the moment, and I've been having a blast watching!
LOL I remember once, I was home, it was like 9 pm and a pretty big thunderstorm was happening outside. I grab my cam, and head out. My mom goes, "Where are you going?", I say, "Up to the roof, try and take a few pics", she goes "WHAT?! ARE YOU INSANE?!, don't be a daredevil!" I just told her, "Awwww come on, nothing's gonna happen. We live in a 1 story house, and besides, I'm wearing shoes! :p ".

You just reminded me of that joke:
Did you hear about the dyslexic devil worshipper?
He sold his soul to Santa.

As long as I am not out in one, I love them. Very exciting. When I was younger and still lived with my parents, I used to sit out on our enclosed porch and watch the storm.

As I mentioned, I do love T-storms, but like Peg, sometimes there is nothing better than a good hard rain.

Since living through a tornado, I like storms from a distance. The higher the winds the less I like them. I spent the evening in my basement recently.

I love thunder storms as well. I remember when my daughter was just a little girl there was pretty bad storm. Her and I sat in front of the window so we could enjoy it. Lighting hit very close by and it blew every light bulb in the house. Scared the crap out of both of us.

Yes, I love storms!

We had a really amazing lightning storm here last week, with forked lightning arcing across the sky overhead and deep roars of thunder. My daughter was scared but my son and I loved it!
The best lightning storm I ever saw was above the rooftops in Paris, but although I tried I couldn't catch it on film.

Those photos don't look like Hampshire or The Isle of Wight to me!:)
Lightening is great but not when it strikes a few feet from you- at least it was a few feet or I wouldn't be typing.

This is the picture that comes to mind when I'm in strong winds (hence the evening in my basement)
A friend of mine was unfortunate enough to find the corpse of a 14 yr old girl a few blocks down the road from me, buried beneath the rubble and another friend's brother was decapitated by debris while riding his bike one block in the other direction.

Now what makes you think that you can't find a cacti plateau in Hampshire or The Isle of Wight? :wah: :wah:
Tell us more about your near miss? Must have been shocking - in every sense!
